After four years of silence, State of Decay 3 has finally been shown off again during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, although it still doesn't have a release date.

For a while now, Xbox has had several big games in development that haven't been seen for some time. There are far too many examples of this (sorry, Fable fans), but perhaps the biggest is State of Decay 3. Originally announced in 2020, it's been a long time since we've heard anything about the long-awaited third game.

Going into today's Xbox Summer Game Fest showcase, one of the big questions that fans had was if we'd see State of Decay 3. That wish has come true as State of Decay 3 has finally been shown off with a brand-new cinematic trailer that gave us our best look yet at the game.

State Of Decay 3 Has A New Cinematic Trailer

The trailer was mostly cinematic and focused on showing off the vibes of State of Decay instead of diving deep into its gameplay. We also didn't get a release date or release window, which is a bit of a shame, but it's still nice to see more of the game after so long without any new footage or information.

Although it's a nice surprise to finally see State of Decay 3 again after so long, the reveal was actually a little spoiled less than 24 hours before Xbox's showcase. Undead Labs' press kit was updated before the show, which included a look at the studio's new logo and confirmation that a new trailer was shown off during the Xbox showcase.

Before this new look at the game, the only substantial thing we had on State of Decay 3 was its initial reveal trailer from 2020, which showed a survivor struggling in the snow against a zombie. We did have small bits of news about the game in between that trailer and now, such as the fact that Phil Spencer was "really excited" about it, but this showing at Xbox's Summer Showcase is the most substantial thing in a long time.
