Staryards, shipyards - whatever you want to call 'em, Starfield's got 'em. They're higher up than the myriad planets and moons you'll visit. They're far bigger than the starships you'll pilot. They're the floating behemoths of human habitation found in certain settled systems, specifically the ones where you can drop hard-earned credits on new ships and head out into the great unknown with them.

The mysterious Starborn are some of your foes in Starfield, but where do they come from?

Posts

In the interest of pointing new spacefarers in the right direction, we've compiled this guide that'll get you to every shipyard in Starfield faster than you can say 'Bethesda Game Studios'.

Every Staryard In Starfield

We'll run through these alphabetically, toss in a few fast facts, and send you on your cosmic way. Should additional stations be added via DLC, we'll update this article accordingly!

Deimos Staryard

Deimos is the United Colonies' premier destination for ship enthusiasts with wide pockets and a love for military craft. You'll even get the snooty treatment from some of the regulars, and the fellow who sells you Deimos-brand ships won't waste his breath if you aren't serious about the sale. That said? Some of these ships really are quite good, especially if you expect to come under fire semi-regularly in your galactic escapades.

Location

Sol System, Mars, Moon of Deimos

Ships For Sale

Aegis, Bireme, Gladius, Hoplite, Longsword, Phalanx

Notable Quests

Drydock Blues

Stroud-Eklund Staryard

Then again, maybe we shouldn't have hyped up Deimos Staryard as a place for the elite. Just the involved surnames in Stroud-Eklund Staryard will tell players who have experienced enough of Starfield's main quests what they need to know about the tremendous finances that go into this company's operations. You'll get to know this place while you're simultaneously getting to know Mr. Walter Stroud himself, and you'll earn yourself a brand-new ship as a result.

Location

Nairon System, Deepala, Moon of Dalvik

Ships For Sale

Galileo, Privateer, Roanoke, Trebuchet, Vindicator, Warwolf

Notable Quests

All That Money Can Buy

Trident Staryard

Unfortunately, Trident Luxury Lines proves too luxurious for us - their shipbuilding hotspot doesn't sell ships at all. The only known way to acquire Trident Luxury starships is through theft, so if you're really feeling the space-rich aesthetic, don't let us stop you. Just look out for the law.

Location

Cheyenne System, Akila

Ships For Sale

None

Notable Quests

Drydock Blues, Fueling Greatness

The Key

Admittedly, The Key isn't truly a staryard, but we're including it because the massive space station is in some ways the ultimate staryard. In addition to hosting an entire faction questline, it's packed with vendors, including the official place to purchase Crimson Fleet ships. In that sense, and unlike other space stations, The Key doubles (triples?) as what we'd consider a staryard.

Location

Kryx System, Suvorov

Ships For Sale

Banshee, Ghost, Haunt, Phantom, Reaper, Specter, Wight, Wraith

Notable Quests

Nearly the entire Crimson Fleet questline; well over a dozen side quests

Several of the ships we've mentioned in this guide have multiple ranks, with numerical designators following the name (for example, 'Wight IV'). Unlocking the higher-tier ships will occur naturally over time across dozens of hours, as you level up while exploring the Settled Systems and beyond, so don't hesitate to upgrade. It'll be a while before the next tier.
