There are many guns in Starfield. So very many guns. Some guns are wonderfully strong. Many others, not so much. But quite a slim percentage of Starfield's guns are truly unique. If you're an avid collector of the rarest treasures in the galaxy, or you just want to get ahead early on with a very decent starter shot, Sir Livingstone's Pistol is for you.

However, there's only one way to get Sir Livingstone's Pistol - and it requires a trait related tradeoff. Let's hop to it.

Take The Kid Stuff Trait

Yep. That's right. Sir Livingstone's Pistol, near as we can tell at this time, at least, is exclusive to the 'Kid Stuff' trait from when you're choosing up three of those during character creation.

It sounds weird without context, perhaps. Why are your parents the ticket to an historically savvy piece like this? Here's how it all goes down, provided you've chosen 'Kid Stuff'. Meet your mother and father at their home in New Atlantis. You can do this before or after the main story quest entitled 'One Small Step', but you won't get the gun until at least after you've done that quest.

We've heard a handful of different reports on what happens next, but none are by any means hard to reach. In our playthrough, our parents showed up at the Lodge the next time we returned, with some sage advice from dear dad... and Sir Livingstone's Pistol, too. Thanks, dad. It's also possible to receive a note from Noel that they wish to see you, since that's what triggers various other events involving your not-so-old folks.

Either way, Sir Livingstone's Pistol is pretty smooth stuff. It will get outclassed after several more hours, but it should handily best any purchasable handgun for some time. You can sell it, though it'd really make a better decoration, don't you think?
