Stardew Valley Players Want Bookshelves To Store Books

Summary
- Stardew Valley update 1.6 introduced 19 new Books of Power, but there's nowhere to really store them.
- Fans have a pretty obvious solution: pop them on the bookshelf.
- You can already do this with clothes and the dresser, so there's a precedent in-game.
Stardew Valley update 1.6 introduced Books of Power, unique items that, when read, give you a special boon. For instance, Way of the Wind makes you run faster, Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Thick gives you +1 Defense, and Animal Catalogue lets you enter Marnie's shop when she's not in. But they're a bit of a nightmare to store.
However, fans have a really simple, obvious solution — bookshelves should be able to hold books. There's already a precedent for decorative items like this serving a more practical function in Stardew Valley, as dressers can hold clothing items, so it makes complete sense to do the same for the new Books of Power.
Why Stop At Bookshelves?
A lot of commenters say that they simply throw these books away or sell them right now, but that they'd "love" to hold onto them by storing them in their already-placed bookshelves, since it'd take up no extra, unecessary space. But that's not all fans want to see.
Another popular suggestion is to implement a weapon rack, or something other than a chest to store tools like "obsolete scythes". Not only would it make your farm look nicer, but it'd free up a bunch of storage for more useful items.
The bookshelf and weapon rack ideas are already gaining a lot of traction, with hundreds of upvotes pouring in for each. Maybe one day, eh? In the meantime, console players have update 1.6 itself to look forward to (and all the books they'll have to find a place for) when it finally arrives next month on November 4.
