Cal Kestis Will Reportedly Appear In Live-Action Star Wars Project "Very Soon"

Summary
- Industry insider DanielRPK claims that Cal Kestis will appear in a live-action Star Wars project "very soon".
- We don't know what this project is, but it's worth noting that Skeleton Crew is out later this year, followed by The Mandalorian & Grogu in 2026, and then a second series of Ahsoka.
- It could, however, be an unannounced project, so we'll just have to wait and see.
According to industry insider DanielRPK via his Patreon, Cal Kestis from Respawn Entertainment's hit Star Wars Jedi series is coming to a live-action Disney Plus project "very soon".
We've seen the Republic Commandos appear in the animated Clone Wars and Bad Batch series', and The Mandalorian referenced Battlefront 2's Operation: Cinder, but never has a character from a game made the leap to live-action.
Cameron Monaghan has expressed interest in bringing Cal to live-action before on the condition that it "continues the story or character in some way".
As with most modern Star Wars games, Cal Kestis will be easy to bring to live-action because Respawn uses actor Cameron Monaghan's likeness with photorealistic graphics. Star Wars games have been futureproofing for years in the chance that a character might be used elsewhere, and it's finally paying off — Iden Versio next, eh?
What Project Will Cal Kestis Appear In?
If this report is true, the question is what project Cal might appear in. "Very soon" isn't completely clear, but it narrows it down somewhat. Skeleton Crew is out later this year, while The Mandalorian & Grogu releases in 2026. A second series of Ahsoka will begin also filming in 2025.
While it could be an unannounced project, Ahsoka seems a likely fit. Set just after Return of the Jedi, it would be the perfect time to introduce Cal to the wider Star Wars universe without clashing with the games or opening up any more lingering questions as to where he was during the events of the Original Trilogy.
EA reportedly cancelled a first-person Mandalorian game from Respawn, so the ties between live-action and games have been strengthening for some time.
Ahsoka has introduced other Jedi from that era already, like Ezra Bridger from the animated Rebels series, bringing together the expanded universe Jedi living under the oppressive thumb of the Empire. Adding Cal into the mix would fit perfectly, but perhaps I'm way off and he'll cameo in The Mandalorian & Grogu. We'll just have to wait and see.
