Resident Evil 4's The Mercenaries Mode Lets You Play As Luis, Hunk, And Krauser

Resident Evil 4's new iteration of The Mercenaries mode features Leon, Luis Serra, Hunk, and Krauser will all be playable characters, with Ada Wong and Albert Wesker seemingly not making the cut right now.
We're only a day away from the official release of the free The Mercenaries update for Resident Evil 4's remake but, like what happened with the full game, some territories already have access to the update and have already had a chance to start the mode and see what it's all about. This includes revealing all three of the playable characters aside from Leon, as well as seeing who sadly hasn't made the cut.

As shared by Twitter user itswong45, The Mercenaries mode will let you play as Leon Kennedy, Hunk, Krauser, and, for the first time, Luis Serra. It's not currently clear how to unlock all of the characters but, according to AestheticGamer, the player will start out with Leon and Luis, with Hunk and Krauser being unlocked through unknown means.
Although it's nice to see Luis get a bigger role this time around, Resident Evil fans will no doubt have noticed that there are two big characters missing from the lineup - Ada Wong and Albert Wesker. This is a big shame considering the two were playable in The Mercenaries mode for the original release of Resident Evil 4, but at least we've got most of the roster returning.
Thankfully, it seems like all hope isn't lost for the missing characters. In a recent tweet, AestheticGamer reported that an update is currently planned for The Mercenaries that will add Resident Evil 4 Remake's Ada Wong, red dress Ada from the original game, Albert Wesker and Leon in his Pinstripe outfit. AestheticGamer suggests that this update will release closer to the Separate Ways DLC, which is currently unannounced but heavily rumoured.
Moving away from the characters, players who have got their hands on the game early have also uncovered all of the stages that are currently in The Mercenaries. There's one based on the village in the opening chapters of the game, as you'd expect, one based on Salazar's castle, and another that appears to be based on the late-game island. Again, it's not currently clear how to unlock each stage, but we imagine that it's just a case of getting a high-enough score on each map.
