Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive RPG stuffed with characters, secrets and empty boxes. It's one of those games where you find something new on every playthrough, and most players, except those who have completed multiple playthroughs, will never appreciate the full scale of Larian's huge game.

A thread on Reddit gathered veterans of Baldur's Gate 3 together to speak about the new secrets they've learned after over 5+ playthroughs. Everyone's experience is different but plenty of obscure and interesting information was shared.

Baldur's Gate 3, A Game of Never-Ending Discovery

The original poster reveals there is a broken window in Rosymorn Monastery in the room where you get the Dawnmaster's Crest that you can step through to access two chests with decent loot, including an always-useful Scroll of Revivify.

Keeping with the theme of secret chests, in Act 1's Reithwin Tollhouse, there is a set of double oak doors located near the repugnant Gerringothe Thorm. This is a secret that most people know about, but what people may not have known is there's an additional secret room after these two rooms, accessed by placing something on the two chairs within.

A lot of players probably don't utilise the spells Speak with Animals or Speak with Dead, which is a shame because there's a lot of lore you can learn from a random frog. A veteran revealed that if you use Speak with Dead on a recently deceased Lord Enver Gortash, you can speak with his patron Bane, the god of tyranny.

Bane is surprisingly genial, supporting the player in their quest for power. Bane doesn't even care what exactly you do, as all paths lead towards you becoming more powerful, favouring his pantheon in his conflict with Myrkul and Bhaal.

In response to this revelation, another commenter pointed out that you can speak with the Orthon Yurgir's bed of corpses in Shar's Gauntlet. The ensuing conversation is disturbing, to say the least.

An interesting one from near the beginning of the game that people may not have known about is the presence of a Harper's cache with some useful items located near the Nautiloid. You must travel south of the Roadside Cliffs, jump down some ledges, and pass a nature check on a boulder to discover the Harper's Map in a chest. This will reveal a waypoint to a location north of the Nautiloid and, after some climbing, you'll find the cache.

We'll probably be hearing about rare character interactions and obscure situations for years; that's the beauty of a sandbox like Baldur's Gate 3.
