There are many secrets and discoveries to be made in Remnant 2, ranging from weapons and armor to Traits and items. But, uncovering these hidden elements isn't always obvious or simple. Among these secrets is the existence of unlockable Archetypes. Archetypes function as classes in the game, shaping your playstyle and forming the foundation for your preferred character build.

You initially get to choose only one Archetype when you start. However, as you progress, there's a chance to unlock additional ones and even equip two of them simultaneously. Among the various Archetypes available, the Engineer stands out as a powerful choice.
How To Unlock The Engineer Archetype In Remnant 2
To unlock the Engineer Archetype, you must follow several steps before gaining access to this unique class.
Firstly, you need to begin at N'Erud and progress until you reach the second open map in the world. This could be either The Eon Vault or The Timeless Horizon, as the game generates locations randomly.
Regardless of which map you end up in, you will need to find the item called the Alien Device, which will always be located in the second open zone in N'Erud.
Now, this is where things can become a bit challenging.
From your starting point, you must carefully navigate the map's edges, avoiding the deadly fog to stay safe.
As you explore the map's edges, you'll need to locate a separate piece of land that lies outside the actual map. This area may not immediately appear until you approach it closely.
After you've found the hidden area, you'll need to enter the fog and be quick. The fog is deadly, and if the statue effect meter fills up, you'll die instantly (shown in the picture above as the purple meter).
As a result, finding the Alien Device might take a few attempts due to the fog limiting your visibility and the deadly statue effect. However, the Alien Device will be located there.
While you explore the foggy area, you have the chance to obtain the Technician set as well.
Now that you have obtained the Alien Device, it's time to return to Ward 13 and interact with Wallace.
In the menu, you can craft the Drzyr Caliper using the Alien Device, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and 1,000 Scrap.
Once you've successfully crafted the Drzyr Caliper, equip the Engram, and this will unlock the Engineer Archetype for you to use.
