Rayman 4 Reportedly Depends On How Successful Legends Retold Is
A leaker who shared a ton of details about Rayman Legends Retold before its announcement last night has said that plans for Rayman 4 are in place and depend on the remake's success.
Last night's State of Play was packed with massive announcements, from the first proper look at Wolverine's gameplay to the reveal of a brand-new God of War game starring Faye. As great as the showstarter and showstopper were, though, the true highlight was the announcement of Rayman Legends Retold.
We've known about a remake of Rayman Legends for quite some time now thanks to all of the leaks that have been spreading like wildfire over the past few weeks. The reveal confirmed that all of the claims made by one of the most prominent leakers for Legends Retold were correct, which makes their claim about a potential fourth Rayman game all the more interesting.
Rayman Legends Retold Leaker Says Rayman 4 Depends On The Remake's Success
"See You In Rayman 4!"... Hopefully
As pointed out on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by Redditor DerpyBox, Twitter user noarmsandnolegs, one of the main leakers for Legends Retold who ended up being right about everything they claimed, shared an interesting tidbit about the remake before it was officially revealed during the State of Play.
x Your browser does not support the video tag. After sharing a leaked image of Retold, noarmsandnolegs claimed that Ubisoft has "already made preliminary plans to develop Rayman 4", but that it will depend on the success of Rayman Legends Retold. Essentially, Ubisoft is up for more Rayman, but only if Legends Retold ends up selling well enough.
Thank god Retold is only $40 instead of full retail price, as that will surely give it a much fairer shot.
Considering how much information about Legends Retold noarmsandnolegs got spot-on, this claim is likely to be true. It's also not that surprising all things considered, as Ubisoft isn't going to spend more time on the series if people don't show up. That's a little concerning considering the somewhat mixed reception to Retold so far, but I'm hoping Rayman fans rally for the first major stop of his comeback tour.
