Pokemon's next Ultra Premium Collection was revealed last week and it'll star Greninja. Pre-orders for the collection are now live and, as some expected, Greninja's special set will only be available through GameStop. You get a lot of Greninja-themed Pokemon TCG stuff with the Ultra Premium Collection, and although pre-orders for the $120 are now open, it won't be released until November 2024, a month that is shaping up to be a very busy, and somewhat expensive one, for Pokemon TCG collectors.

Ex Premium Collections are a little different from regular Pokemon TCG expansions as, like the name of the new Greninja set implies, they tend to focus on a particular Pokemon. Charizard and Armarouge have Premium Collections of their own, and now Greninja will be joining them. Included in the collection is an etched foil Greninja promo card with a matching metal card, a deck box, a playmat, and more. Plus, best of all, 16 booster packs.

As is the case with most Pokemon TCG sets, expansions, and collections, Greninja's will also include a code for Pokemon TCG Live. Notable for its inclusion in this and other sets and expansions arriving this November as it has now been confirmed that Pokemon TCG Pocket will launch on mobile October 30, 2024, so two days before this set is released. Pokemon TCG Live will continue to exist, of course, but I'm surprised the virtual bonuses November's sets include won't be linked to the new game that'll be here by the time they arrive.

The Pokemon TCG's Premium Collection focus on a single Pokemon, and the star of this one is Greninja. Included is an etched foil promo ad etched metal Greninja cards and everything else you need to play the TCG, including 16 booster packs.

GameStop is the only place you will find the Greninja Premium Collection and you can place your pre-order now for $119.99 through the link above. The collection joins the Pokemon TCG's Surging Sparks expansion which also launches this November, and the recently announced Grand Adventure Collection. A new frontier for the Pokemon TCG as it will introduce Horizons' protagonists Liko and Roy to the game. Ash, from who Liko and Roy took the anime reigns, never got his own Pokemon card despite a 25-year run as the show's lead.

Pokemon appears to be going hard on new additions to the TCG throughout the rest of 2024 which makes a lot of sense with nothing announced on the video game front. Pokemon seemingly won't be getting a big holiday release on Nintendo Switch this year with the next game, Pokemon Legends Z-A, not arriving until 2025. Pokemon TCG Pocket and the various physical sets launching in November will have to fill that void.
