Like the Fire-type Mass Outbreak event before it, this event offers new missions and a fresh new Flair, along with the chance to pick up some of your favorite Lightning-type Pokemon via Wonder Picks. You've only got a week to catch 'em all, but we've got everything you need to know right here!

Lightning-Type Mass Outbreak Event Overview

During the event, rare picks will occasionally show up in the Wonder Pick list when it refreshes, and will be available for anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, so check back frequently.

The Wonder Pick button on the home screen should have a "Rare pick available" label when the rare pick shows up. Rare picks will always be the top option in the Wonder Pick menu.

How Long Does The Event Last?

This event runs from December 26, 2024 through December 31, 2024, ending at midnight Central Time (UTC -6), as the clock rolls over to 2025.

What Can You Do In The Event?

  • Wonder Pick will feature Lightning-type Pokemon and Lt. Surge in both rare picks and bonus picks.
  • A new Flair is available for the four-diamond Zapdos ex: Zapdos ex Star Outlines Flair: Yellow (Battle), which you can buy with duplicate copies and Shinedust.
  • Six new missions are available.

Cards That Appear In Rare Picks

There are six cards that can appear in Rare Picks. Zapdos ex, Raichu, and Magneton will always appear, along with either Electabuzz and Lt. Surge or Galvantula and Pinurchin. Since they always contain Zapdos ex, Rare Picks cost three Wonder Stamina.

Bonus Picks will show up a little more frequently, but will not have a notification on the home screen. These picks do not cost Wonder Stamina; some Bonus Picks will contain five cards, while others will contain two cards, a Wonder Hourglass, Pack Hourglass, and Shop Ticket.

Bonus Picks that contain a Shop Ticket, Pack Hourglass, and Wonder Hourglass will contain two of the following cards:

Event Missions

There are six new missions in the Lightning-type Mass Outbreak Event. None of these missions require you to spend Wonder Stamina: a Zapdos ex from a Genetic Apex: Pikachu pack will satisfy the requirements of the first mission, and Bonus Picks and pack openings can be used for the rest.
