Summary

  • Oblivion Remastered has 3,000 mods on Nexus Mods, improving things from NPCs' looks to gameplay.
  • Dark Minion and Mazoga get "yassified" with refined features and makeovers.
  • Another modder's BWC mod aims to "feminize" all female human NPCs in the game.

Over the years, players have become accustomed to editing a game's NPCs. Sometimes, this is for the better, like the Dragon Age: The Veilguard mod that changed every character into Elgar'nan or the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mod that changed everybody into skeletons, but sometimes, it really isn't.

Naturally, with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered becoming the fastest modded game in the history of Nexus Mods, it was only a matter of time before players started to alter the NPCs. A month in, and to nobody's surprise, characters have started to get yassified, at least as much as it's possible to yassify some of Cyrodiil's residents.

Since its launch, Oblivion Remastered has seen around 3,000 mods uploaded to Nexus Mods. Some of them are designed to fix bugs, others to improve the gameplay experience, and a portion are just there to make the characters look a little better.

The first of these mods is the personification of yassification, with the Dark Minion from Deepscorn Hollow having its features completely refined. It now has a finer bone structure and a gigachad chin, all while retaining its creepy red eyes.

The Dark Minion isn't the only one to see an overhaul, though. Mazoga, an Orc found in Castle Leyawiin, has also been given a full makeover, with MartinMystery modding her to have a "human-like face to fit her human voice," and she's got a nice new barnet to go along with it, too.

If changing individual characters is too much work for you, another modder, Jamoss66, has you covered with their BWC mod (Beautiful Women of Cyrodiil). This mod is far more comprehensive than the others, aiming to "give back their femininity" to every female human NPC in Oblivion.

Jamoss' first mod updates the look of 22 women in the Imperial City, with 35 more planned for that location. Following the Imperial City, Jamoss has plans to modify over 200 more characters across many of Oblivion Remastered's core locations, including Anvil, Kvatch, Skingrad, and the Shivering Isles. It's a mammoth task, and great if you're that way inclined.
