Who Created The Halo Games?
CloseThe history of Halo is a long one, starting off with the development of the Bungie studio all the way back in 1991. The studio focused on games for Mac computers, with the original iteration of Halo: Combat Evolved being a real-time strategy game for the Mac. Over time, the game would shift towards a third-person action game, and once the studio was acquired by Microsoft in 2000, it became a first-person shooter. Microsoft threw itself behind the game, making it an anchor game for the fledgling platform.
The original Halo: Combat Evolved was meant to have an online multiplayer mode as well, and not just the iconic and incredibly addicting lan multiplayer mode, but since the original Xbox did not have the Xbox Live service up and running by the time of the launch of the console, it was excluded until the release of Halo 2. Since then, Halo, Master Chief, Cortana, and all the Covenant have become mainstays in video game culture. There have been plenty of books, a live-action television show, comics, and more dedicated to the series. Halo even helped to kickstart the machinima trend that took over the early to mid 2000s, which defined a whole generation of internet humor.

PostsSo What’s The Combined Total?
CloseAlright, so sixteen games might not seem like that many, and compared to other long-running video game series, it might not be, but now that we have all these stats we can see just how long it will take to run through the games. If you're just interested in getting the main story of each game out of the way, you're looking at around 104.5 hours. That's not taking into account Halo: The Master Chief Collection, since it includes remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 and there is no need to replay all those games again. If you feel so inclined, it'll bring you up to 162.5 hours.
If you're after the complete Halo experience, getting all achievements and completing each game to 100%, that's going to take quite a bit longer to accomplish. If you're after a full 100% run, it'll take you at least a staggering 339.5 hours, again, excluding Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If you want to add that feat, it will take you an even more inflated 405.5 hours.
