This statement seemed to contradict S-Game's actual opinions, though, and the company has been forced to issue a statement rebutting the claim.

"These Claimed Statements Do Not Represent S-Game's Value Or Culture"

While S-Game doesn't outright deny that one of its team members made the comments, it vehemently denies that this is the company's wider view.

In a statement put out on Twitter, it said, "We want to clarify that these claimed statements do not represent S-GAME’s values or culture, as we believe in making our game accessible to everyone and have not ruled out any platforms for Phantom Blade Zero."

We have not ruled out any platforms for Phantom Blade Zero.

The statement continues with S-Game saying, "We are hard at work on both the development and publishing fronts to ensure that as many players as possible can enjoy our game at release and in the future."

With Phantom Blade Zero being heavily marketed by Sony, with its reveal initially featuring during a PlayStation State of Play, the developers are in a tricky situation. There is every possibility that it could be scheduled for an Xbox release some point in the future. However, due to a timed exclusivity agreement with Sony, things have to stay under wraps.

The game, which is reportedly "not another Soulslike", will get its "world premiere demo" at Gamescom in Germany later this month. We got to go hands-on with the game at Summer Game Fest this year, and we called it "solid" with "really cool environments", but felt the game was still years away.
