It's very rare for golfers to go straight from college to the PGA Tour in the real world. In PGA Tour 2K25, you have a choice. You can start as a rookie in the lesser-known tours, or head straight to the PGA Tour to try your hand at winning all of the game's major tournaments.

There are four different tours you can choose between when starting your MyCareer, each of which features different tournaments. Before beginning your journey and starting to level up your MyPlayer's stats, you need to make the decision that is right for you.

All MyCareer Starting Points

After designing your MyPlayer and picking what archetype you want to start your career with, you need to choose between the four MyCareer tour starting points. Those four tours you need to choose from are:

  • Q-School
  • Korn Ferry Tour
  • Korn Ferry Tour Championship
  • PGA Tour

Essentially, the first three options are a path to the PGA Tour, which provide a more realistic path to stardom and the possibility of winning major tournaments.

You cannot change your tour once a MyCareer season begins, so choose carefully. The only way to change a starting point would be to waste time by skipping multiple seasons or starting MyCareer from the beginning.

Where You Should Start

Where to start in PGA Tour 2K25's MyCareer comes down to how realistic you want your playthrough to be. Do you want to stick to your rookie status and work your way through the tours, or are you more interested in the major events? If it's the former, choose Q-School, and choose PGA Tour if the latter is your answer.

Also, one additional reason to choose to begin MyCareer in the Q-School or Korn Ferry events is the fact that doing so provides you the ability to level up and improve before taking on the toughest opponents around. You may find it hard to win the majors if your Pro is still low rated.

Finally, choosing PGA Tour as a start point gets you straight to the best parts of the game. There's no waiting for what you really want to experience.

In short, you should choose either Q-School or PGA Tour, depending on how realistic you want your MyCareer story to be.
