However, not all materials required for crafting are easy to obtain, and some cannot be produced at all. In this guide, we’ll cover how to acquire one such material: Dark Fragment.
How To Get Dark Fragment
Dark Fragment is a material that can only be obtained from specific Pals. There is no other method to acquire this material besides farming it from Pals. All the Pals that drop Dark Fragments can be found on Feybreak Island. Feybreak Island is located in the southwestern part of your map.
Since the Pals on this island are over level 50 and the anti-aircraft missiles on the island make it quite challenging, you should come well-prepared. The table below lists the Pals with a chance to drop Dark Fragments and their locations on Feybreak Island:

Kitsun Noct
You cannot encounter Kitsun Noct in the wild. However, you can find its Alpha Boss version on Feybreak Island. Head north from the Hidden Passage to the Oculus Gate fast travel point. However, the entrance to the Dark Flame Tunnel, where it is located, can be found at coordinates -1039, -1196.
Dazzi Noct
Dazzi Noct is exclusively found in the lava pool area on the eastern side of Feybreak Island.
The Alpha Boss version can also be located on Feybreak Island. To find it, travel northwest from the Feybreak Tower Entrance fast travel point. (-1343, -1580).
Starryon
Starryon appears at night in the crimson and purple soil regions of Feybreak Island.
The Alpha Boss version can be found in the island's northeastern area. To locate it, travel northeast from the Scorched Island fast travel point at coordinates (-756, -941).
Omascul
Omascul can be found in the southern region of Feybreak Island, where the soil is purple.
To locate the Alpha Boss Omascul, travel southwest from The Oculus Gate’s Tower in Sight fast travel point at coordinates (-1183, -1488).
Splatterina
Splatterina appears only at night on Feybreak Island, except in the light-colored coastal regions to the north and west and the orange-soil areas to the east.
The Alpha Boss Splatterina is also on Feybreak Island at coordinates (-1209, -1326). To reach it, go south of Scorched Hill and enter the Bloodstained Tunnel at coordinates -1210, -1387.
Additionally, farming the Alpha Boss versions of these Pals can be beneficial for obtaining Dark Fragments. Since some of the Pals that drop Dark Fragments spawn at night, heading out during nighttime is a logical strategy. Starting from the Oculus Gate, Tower in Sight fast travel point and creating a farming route heading southwest is a good idea.
To maximize your Dark Fragment gain, instead of killing these Pals, capture them. Then, butcher the captured Pals using a Meat Cleaver or a Pal Disassembly Conveyor. This will yield more Dark Fragments compared to simply killing them.
If you want to gather even more Dark Fragments, you can increase the Pal Appearance Rate to three in the World Settings. This will allow you to encounter more Pals with a chance to drop Dark Fragments, giving you more opportunities to defeat or capture them.
Remember, if you want to gain an advantage in battles against Dark-element Pals, make sure to bring Dragon-type Pals with you. Their type advantage will help you defeat them with ease.
