Alpha Boss Suzaku is a Fire element pal weak to Water moves. Five of the six moves this boss uses are Fire element abilities, so bringing Water element pals to this fight will prove exceptionally handy.
The best pals to bring to this fight are the Dragon/Water element Jormuntide, the Water/Dragon element Azurobe, and the Water element Suzaku Aqua.
Both Azurobe and Jormuntide can be found as Alpha Bosses in the open world area of Palworld, so it is more accessible to obtain those two for this fight.
Five of the six moves that Alpha Boss Suzaku uses have a chance to burn its target.
- Ignis Blast, Spirit Fire, Flare Arrow, Ignis Breath, and Flare Storm each have a chance to burn you and your pals.
- Being burned will inflict damage to the target over a period of time.
Let’s take a look at Alpha Boss Suzaku's fiery move pool so you and your pals can minimize the chances of walking away with nothing but burns!
Move: Air Cannon
This move is an incredibly swift projectile aimed directly at you or your pals. Its remarkable velocity poses a significant challenge to dodge, particularly in close-quarters combat.
Stay far away from Alpha Boss Suzaku to give yourself ample time to react to this move. Additionally, since this projectile travels in a line, you should move side-to-side during the boss encounter.
Move: Ignis Blast
Ignis Blast is another projectile it will use very often. The only cue this move has is when the boss unfolds its wings after enclosing itself within them.
Dodging this move is imperative, as Ignis Blast is the move most likely to burn you. If you are constantly moving, then the boss will have a difficult time ever hitting you.
Move: Spirit Fire
CloseThis fire projectile starts off as a slow-moving, single fireball that will fragment into smaller projectiles just out of melee range of Alpha Boss Suzaku.
If you or your pal are hit by this in melee range, either of you will take full damage from this ability. Do not be close to this boss at any point during this encounter.
You can dodge the initial missile by simply maneuvering to the left or right of its path, but if you are in the path of the smaller projectiles, then it is best to avoid their damage by rolling toward the boss.
Move: Flare Arrow
CloseThe three fire arrows that get shot with this move are extremely fast while also locking on and following their target. You cannot outrun these, so your only course of action is to perform well-timed rolls in any direction just before these hit you.
If you are far enough away from Alpha Boss Suzaku, you can actually bait them by running in the opposite direction you were originally running when it fired the arrows. This causes the arrow to zoom behind you rather than at you.
Move: Ignis Breath
When facing Alpha Boss Suzaku, prepare yourself for its breath attack, much like other bosses. This move hits everything inside the fire multiple times every second.
This attack has a wide range, reaching from melee to mid-range, so it's best to maintain a safe distance during this encounter and continue your attacks. Alternatively, you can dodge the attack by swiftly moving to the side until the fire subsides.
Move: Flare Storm
Flare Storm is able to knock whatever it hits straight into the air, dealing massive damage and preventing you or your pal from moving.
The vortexes of fire spawn on either side of Alpha Boss Suzaku and merge to form a massive fire storm directly in front of the boss. To avoid this attack, it's best to quickly move or roll to either side of the boss before the merge occurs.
Flare Storm has a very long starting animation, making it easier for you and your pal to avoid the damage.
If you see Alpha Boss Suzaku starting to summon Flare Storm, either move away from its front immediately or recall your pal if it's the target so you can keep doing damage to the boss.
