Alpha Boss Anubis is a Ground element pal that is weak to Grass element moves. Five of the six moves it uses are also Ground element moves, which means bringing along Grass element pals for this fight will be very helpful since they are resistant to Ground element moves.

The best Grass element pals to bring along for this fight are Lyleen, Vaelet, and Verdash.

Vaelet can be found at No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary or as an open-world Alpha Boss.

Verdash can be found at No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary or as an open-world Alpha Boss.

Lyleen can be found in the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary.

Alpha Boss Anubis has the passive skill Earth Emporer, which increases the damage of all of its Ground moves by 20 percent. When you consider that in conjunction with the power of its abilities, Alpha Boss Anubis has a move pool that is unmatched in lethality.

Move: Stone Blast

Stone Blast is a projectile that Alpha Boss Anubis weaves between its other devastating melee attacks. It breaks up into smaller parts along its path, making it easier to roll towards the boss to avoid its damage, as it has a wide area of effect.

Move: Power Bomb

Close

Power Bomb is a two-part attack that requires Alpha Boss Anubis to charge energy into an orb above its head before launching it at its target. Use this charge time as an opportunity to call back your pal if it is targeted by Power Bomb.

If you are the one targeted by Power Bomb instead, wait for the orb to finish channeling. Then, once the orb has been launched, perform a dodge roll toward the boss.

Move: Sand Tornado

Close

Sand Tornado is a devastating attack that can launch you or your pal into the air upon impact. The tornadoes originate from opposite sides of Alpha Boss Anubis and combine in front of the boss, creating an even larger tornado.

To evade this attack, swiftly roll or move to either side of the boss since the front of the boss is where it is unsafe.

Remember that the animation of this move will take some time. When Alpha Boss Anubis summons the winds, either move away from its front or have your pal recall it if it is being targeted.

Move: Spinning Roundhouse

Close

Spinning Roundhouse is an incredibly strong two-part attack that will also leave you or your pals immobilized if it hits. This move starts with Alpha Boss Anubis raising one leg and a red zone appearing on the surrounding ground.

After a short pause, Alpha Boss Anubis will perform a spinning kick that will hit everything in the red zone.

This move happens very fast, so be prepared to call back your pal when you see its leg raised. If you are close to the boss, be prepared to dodge roll in the opposite direction.

Move: Forceful Charge

Close

Forceful charge may be the hardest move in the game to dodge, and that is because of multiple factors.

The first difficulty is that Alpha Boss Anubis's cue for forceful charge is very subtle. You will want to look out for him, raising his arms above its head and quickly bringing them back down to its sides in a squatting position. After one second in this squatting position, it will lunge at you with incredible velocity.

The second difficulty lies in the move damaging you or your pals before it looks like it has hit you. So, to dodge this ability, you have to preemptively roll or return your pal. The best direction to roll is perpendicular to the direction that Alpha Boss Anubis is lunging.

Move: Ground Smash

Close

At the start of this move, Alpha Boss Anubis will jump backward away from you or your pal. Then, proceed to jump very high into the air. A red zone will appear on the ground, indicating where Alpha Boss Anubis is going to land.

After approximately two seconds, Alpha Boss Anubis will make an impact with the ground inside of the red zone, dealing massive damage and immobilizing anything caught inside of the blast.

Use these two seconds to quickly roll out of the area or to return your pal.
