Sometimes you have to make a bit of a tough decision in Paleo Pines and let one of your befriended dinosaurs back into the wild. Maybe you didn't have enough Dreamstones to make them a pen and keep them happy, or you can't keep up with feeding all the dinosaurs on your farm.

Dreamstones are the key to dino happiness.
PostsIf that does happen, you don't have to worry about never seeing that dinosaur again – you have the ability to find and befriend them again. In this guide, we'll show you how to release a dinosaur if you need too, how to unlock Dino Tracking, and how to get back any dinosaurs you've previously befriended.
How To Release A Dinosaur Back To The Wilds
To let a dinosaur go, you'll first need to make sure it's following you. This is done by equipping your flute, then blowing three small red notes for the Yoohoo command while facing the dinosaur you need.
Next, blow three small yellow notes for the Follow Me command. Then, either by riding it or letting it follow you, bring the dinosaur outside your farm into Veridian Valley.
Once you're out of your farm, use the Yoohoo command with your flute again on the dinosaur. There will be a new command for you to use: Move to the Wilds. Move to the Wilds's tune consists of the notes: Medium Purple, Medium Red, Medium Purple, Medium Red, Medium Blue, then Medium Purple.
After you blow the tune, you'll get a prompt asking if you want to release the specified dinosaur. If a released dinosaur is equipped with a saddle, it will be returned to your inventory or sent to storage before it leaves.
How To Track A Released Dinosaur
Once you've released at least one dinosaur, Mari will have a new dialogue option available: Dino Storage.
You'll need to have progressed through The Parasaurolophus Puzzle quest line enough to track the Parasaur footprints, find the mystery dinosaur, and then learned to track from Mari to fully unlock dinosaur tracking.
Speak to her and select Dino Storage, and Mari will show you a record of any dinosaurs you've released so far that includes their name, level progress, skills, color, and where they live. Ask her to find the dinosaur, and she'll bring the dinosaur back to her ranch for you, giving you the chance to befriend them again using the same method you did the first time.
