As you carve a path through the never-ending hordes of undead in Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, you'll notice that many of the zombies drop gold medals for you to collect. These can then be exchanged at in-game kiosks for upgrades, combos, and costumes. However, there is another form of currency that is a bit harder to acquire.

Juliet is back, but how much time will you spend chopping up zombie hordes?
PostsSome purchases require the use of platinum medals, which are awarded at a much less frequent rate than their gold counterparts. They're what you'll use to buy concept art, background music, and even some of the game's best costumes. The easiest way to farm for them is skillfully dispatching zombies with the Sparkle Hunt system.
How Does Sparkle Hunting Work?
The Sparkle Hunt system activates when you are taking on a tightly packed group of enemies. Should you kill three or more zombies with a single swipe, you'll be awarded both gold and platinum medals. As you're whirling your chainsaw through their bodies, the screen will freeze, telling you how many enemies you've eliminated, as well as how many medals you've earned.
Your medal payouts are directly tied to your zombie-slaying efficiency; the gold medal counts will vary based on how strong the enemies were, but platinums are stagnant and based on how many you defeated. You will gain:
- One medal for three kills
- Two medals for four kills
- Four medals for five kills
- Six medals for six kills
- Nine medals for seven kills
Seven kills are the most you can benefit from at any one time, and reaching this feat will award you with the Sparkle Hunting Master trophy.
Sparkle Hunting Tips
Enemies are usually bunched together pretty tight, so striking multiple at the same time isn't too difficult, but making sure they die to the same move is a different story. While activating a Sparkle Hunt naturally isn't uncommon, the best way to guarantee it'll work is by using Star Soul mode.
After filling the Star Soul gauge and pressing the Right Trigger, you'll be both invincible and able to instantly kill any zombie with a single swing. Simply rush into the nearest clump of enemies whirling your chainsaw around with reckless abandon, and you'll be swimming in medals in no time.
You should also be on the lookout for crawling zombies; there are moments in Lollipop Chainsaw where they'll attack you in great numbers. This is an excellent time to use your sweep attack as you can remove many heads at once, earning some extra money while you're at it.
Sparkle Hunting can be activated by gun kills too. The rules are slightly different; you'll need to slay enemies in rapid succession in order to claim medals.
