- We don't know all that much about Kingdom Hearts 3's cut worlds, but a new leak has revealed a very interesting one.
- According to the Premium Showcase files, a Cars world was considered for KH3 during development.
- It's not clear how far the concept got or why it was cut, but it's interesting to learn after five years.
Kingdom Hearts 3's Premium Showcase files have been datamined, with some of the files suggesting that a Cars world was considered at one point during development.
Although Kingdom Hearts 3 was an annoyingly leaky ship before it launched all the way back in 2019 (yes, it's really been five whole years), there surprisingly haven't been many leaks since then. While we know a ton about all of the worlds, mechanics, and characters that were considered for previous mainline Kingdom Hearts games, the same can't really be said of KH3.

With the franchise finally coming to Steam, plenty of gamers will jumping into Kingdom Hearts for the first time.
Posts 5Well, that was the case up until earlier today, as dataminers have managed to gain access to Kingdom Hearts 3's Premium Showcase files, which not only show off how the game's cutscenes looked during development, but also give us a few hints about some cut Disney content that nearly made it into the final release.
Cars Was Almost A World In Kingdom Hearts 3
Over on Twitter, Kingdom Hearts researcher ligero_miguel reported that Kingdom Hearts 3's Premium Showcase files (which is basically the KH3 word for cutscenes) had been datamined and leaked, showing off how they looked during development. While it's nice to see more of the work that went into Kingdom Hearts 3, the big reveal is that a Cars world was seemingly being considered during development.
While looking at the world list, ligero_miguel noticed the word "カーズ(仮)", which roughly translates to "Cars (Tentative)". This suggests that Cars was one of the worlds that was considered for Kingdom Hearts 3, although it seems it didn't make it too far as ligero_miguel noted that they couldn't find any resources linked to the world.
It seems likely that Cars was cut due to time restraints, which means that it could be something that's revisited in Kingdom Hearts 4.
Beyond that, the Premium Showcase files also reveal that Yozora's beta model heavily resembled Noctis (but with blonde hair), suggesting that Final Fantasy Versus 13 files were used as a reference point. The final version of Yozora also clearly looks like Noctis, but it's even clearer now we've seen those files.
