Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Retsuko Character Guide

Sanrio characters aren't all peaceful and adorable, and Retsuko is a shining example of this. Sometimes known as Aggretusko, this newer Sanrio character has quite a temper, so it only makes sense that he is found on Mount Hothead in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

My Melody is the adorable furniture shop owner of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Here, you can learn how to befriend her.
PostsIn this guide, we are going to take a look at how you can find and eventually befriend Retsuko in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. This will include her favorite gifts and friendship rewards as well. She is not found in the starting area, which means that you won't immediately be able to befriend her at the start of the game.
Where To Find Retsuko
CloseRetsuko is found on Mount Hothead, which has some requirements to reach. Thankfully, they aren't too difficult. Firstly, you will need to complete the quest called Power Up the Gate. This quest happens pretty early into the game and is needed to go basically anywhere besides the Seaside Resort.
Once this quest is done, you can technically reach Mount Hothead by running through the Spooky Swamp and across the beaches of Gemstone Mountain. This is a long route, but there are bridges and raised land that connect all these locations.
If you complete the quest Finding Flippers and unlock swimming, then you can also just swim across the water from the Seaside Resort to Mount Hothead. You'll end up at the lower beaches, but if you want to reach a higher level, you can climb up.
There is a mailbox nearby Retsuko's location, so after completing the quest to unlock these fast-travel points and visiting the mailbox at least once, you can use it to quickly teleport to Retsuko.
If Retsuko isn't in the central area of Mount Hothead, don't worry. Here at TheGamer, she was in the Hotsprings area of Mount Hothead when we went to speak with her. If you ever can't find Retsuko, just look for her icon on the map.
Gifts To Give Retsuko
Like everyone else in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Retsuko loves to receive gifts. If a gift has the Fire, Music, or Metal tag, then it will be (at minimum) a one-heart gift. There are other tiers of gifts that provide even more friendship, though they are generally more difficult to find.
Below, you can check out all two and three-heart gifts for Retsuko.

In return for giving her a gift, Retsuko will give you some dough, which is primarily used to make pizza (at the oven nearby).
These gifts can be a bit difficult to find, but that's okay! We suggest giving Retsuko Toasted Almonds, which are just found around Mount Hothead. You can also use these almonds and some dough to make Toasty Pizza.
