From locating these cars and contacting Yusuf Amir about them, the Salvage Yard heist takes the player across a variety of different missions ranging from stealthy infiltrations and aggressive getaways from the cops. Manage all of this well, and you're looking to make a profit of close to $400,000 in almost an hour's time.

Buying The Salvage Yard Property

The first thing you want to do is make sure that you're buying theproperty at the right location.

Open your phone's Maze Bank Foreclosures website, and filter out the options for Salvage Yard. These properties are spread out across the city as well as towards the northern part of the map.

The best location to set up your Salvage Yard is Murrieta Heights. As most of the missions will take place around this area, buying a property here ensures that you aren't wasting any time traveling between locations. This property will cost you $2,420,000. However, this isn't the only price you'll be paying.

It's highly recommended that you also purchase the Tow Truck, as it adds the option to do side missions later on that allow you to earn some extra income. These missions aren't necessarily a part of the Salvage Yard heists, but give the option to earn money by putting in less than five minutes of your time and earning close to $40,000 per mission.

The Tow Truck upgrade costs an additional $1,100,000. If you don't have the money right now, don't worry, you can always purchase this upgrade the same way you purchased the property. There are three other upgrades that are not necessarily at all, and you should avoid them if you're on a budget:

  • Staff Upgrade - This shortens the amount of time it takes to salvage vehicle parts.
  • Get Trade Prices - This gives you a big discount (50%) on any destroyed vehicle you claim from Mors Mutual Insurance.
  • Wall Safe - This increases the amount of money you can store in your office's safe.

How Does The Salvage Yard Make You Money

Once you've purchased the Salvage Yard, simply head to the location and a small cutscene will be triggered. This is when you'll meet Yusuf Amir, and get acquainted with the process. There are three major ways of making money through this business: Robberies, Tow Truck, and Wall Safe.

Most of your effort and time is going to go into robberies that will feel like heists, and the total time taken to complete these is between 40 to 60 minutes.

Once you've set up the Salvage Yard, set it as your Spawn Location from the Interaction Menu for ease of access in the future.

To begin a robbery, head to the desk with a computer monitor that shows you three vehicles to pick from. You can choose any of the three but do know that each vehicle's sellout pays differently. A big thing to note here is that a vehicle can only be robbed once per week (in real time).

There are a total of five vehicle robbery heists that you'll be undertaking. Each has a similar setup mission structure, but the final heist will differ.

Heist

Description

The Gangbanger Robbery

You'll be helping a gang member break free so he can provide you with the location of a gang leader's vehicle.

The Duggan Robbery

This heist takes place in an active Arena War event where you'll infiltrate a spectator box that is controlled by the Duggans.

The Podium Robbery

You'll be stealing a podium vehicle from The Diamond Casino & Resort by breaking through the underground vehicle storage unit.

McTony Robbery

Infiltrating a tech billionaire's Kosatka submarine, you'll be stealing his car that's being transported inside.

The Cargo Ship Robbery

You'll steal a priced vehicle by boarding a cargo ship and extracting its container.

Executing A Vehicle Robbery

Once you've decided which vehicle you want to rob, the next step will be to complete relevant tasks in order to pull off the final heists. These steps involve scoping out a place, stealing necessary equipment, and being in contact with an NPC at most times. Keep in mind that there will be a $20,000 charge for setting up the robbery.

Depending on the vehicle, the missions may feel unique and take you to different locations. It is highly recommended that you have a reliable vehicle like the Buzzard, Deluxo, or Oppressor Mk II with you whenever you need it. After all, any of these vehicles can be called in by simply contacting the Mechanic via your in-game smartphone or Interaction Menu.

An important part to note is that there are certain tasks marked on the planning board as bullet points to the right. These aren't accessible through a prompt or by pressing a button. Instead, they are visible on your in-game map through green markers.

You need to visit these markers and based on the type of mission, you'll be in contact with an NPC. Usually, these involve heavy gunfights so it's best to go prepared.

Every part of this Heist can be done solo, so feel free to launch an Invite Only Session before you begin.

Other Ways of Making Money Through The Salvage Yard

Once you've successfully completed your first robbery, you'll be able to view your car at the Salvage Yard. Move closer to it, and you'll be prompted with two options: sell it or salvage it. We recommend selling it as it will yield the highest profits.

After choosing the option to sell the vehicle, you'll have to take it for a quick ride to the docks where the vehicle will then be taken away. You're going to make Yusuf Amir and your bank balance pretty happy by doing this.

Salvaging a vehicle only earns you 80% of its value. It also occupies space in the Salvage Yard that can be used for another vehicle.

Now, you're left with two other ways of making money.

Using The Tow Truck To Make Money

Investing in a Tow Truck can be useful to make some extra cash. All you need to do is get in it, and start a mission by selecting "Launch Tow Truck Service". This takes a few minutes, and once you've towed a car and got it back to your Salvage Yard, it'll be there until it's completely salvaged for parts.

This now becomes a passive process and you'll have to wait 96 minutes (if there are no staff upgrades) or 48 minutes (if there are staff upgrades). Each vehicle then earns you between $30,000 to $40,000.

Using The Wall Safe To Make Money

Completing each Tow Truck mission adds money to your safe. This is similar to how Nightclub popularity management works, and the safe collects money every in-game day (48 minutes). This is separate from the income gained through salvaging, and merely an addition to the process. So, this bit is optional and you can skip it if you'd like to.

Lastly, do know that some of these vehicles can be kept by you. Instead of selling or salvaging them, based on your luck, you will have a third option to make the vehicle yours. You can then access it through one of your garages in-game and show it off to other players.

Claiming a vehicle usually costs $20,000, but it can be for a discounted price of $10,000 if you own a Document Forgery Office. Some of these vehicles cost millions of dollars if purchased through the in-game showrooms, so keep an eye out for what you'd like to steal and keep rather than sell or salvage.
