As a Genshin Impact player, it wouldn't take you long to realize that the whole game's combat is based around elemental reactions, and you can hardly win any battles without them except a few compositions. These reactions are introduced to you in the first stage of the tutorial itself when you battle a slime.

PostsThere are a total of seven elements in the game, and each one reacts differently with other elements, with some of them not having any reaction at all. It's important to understand how these reactions work, especially if you're planning to take on difficult challenges like the Spiral Abyss.
How To Trigger Every Reaction In Genshin Impact
As you take part in the combat system of Genshin Impact and battle the wide range of enemies that Teyvat has to offer you, elemental reactions can be triggered whenever you apply two specific elements to the same enemy. This can either be done by using two different elemental skills or by using one skill on an enemy that's already infused with another element.
Depending on the two elements you apply, and sometimes the order of application as well, you can trigger the following reactions:

Apart from all these reactions, you can also trigger the Hyperbloom and Burgeon reactions by applying Electro and Pyro to Bloom Core respectively.
The former makes the Core deal single-target damage while the latter causes a bigger explosion.
What Each Reaction Does
Now that you know how to trigger any reaction on command, it's also important to learn what each one of them does. Most reactions in Genshin Impact have a special effect, especially the ones related to Dendro, and here's what they do:
Reaction Name
Effect
Vaporize
Doubles the DMG of the Pyro attack that triggers this reaction.
Reverse Vaporize
Increases the DMG of the Hydro attack that triggers this reaction by 1.5 times. You'll still see the Vaporize reaction on the screen in this instance, but the damage boost is lesser if Hydro is applied after.
Swirl
Deals DMG of the same element type that causes the Swirl reaction other than Anemo. Moreover, if the Anemo ability continues dealing damage, it's considered as the damage of the Swirled element, which makes it easier to trigger other reactions.
Crystallize
Forms a crystal on the ground that can provide your active character a shield when picked up.
Melt
Doubles the DMG of the Pyro attack triggering this reaction.
Reverse Melt
Increases the DMG of the Cryo attack triggering this reaction by 1.5 times. It still shows Melt on the screen, but the boost is reduced if Cryo is applied second.
Freeze
Immobilizes the enemy for a little while, and allows you to cause the shatter reaction if you use a Geo or Claymore attack. Keep in mind that elite bosses can't be frozen.
Overload
Deals AoE Pyro DMG and sends smaller opponents flying while staggering the bigger ones.
Electro-Charged
Deals Electro DMG to the affected opponents at regular intervals. Moreover, if there are other opponents nearby, the electric shock can get conducted between them, dealing higher damage.
Superconduct
Opponents take AoE Cryo DMG while their Physical RES is reduced massively for a little while.
Burning
Burns the target for a set amount of time, dealing constant Pyro DMG that increases with your world level.
Bloom
Forms a Dendro Core on the field that deals Dendro DMG within an AoE after a few seconds. You can have a maximum of five cores on the field. If a sixth one comes, the first one breaks instantly.
Quicken
This reaction doesn't do anything by itself, it just paves the way for Aggravate or Spread to trigger.
Aggravate
Triggers if you apply Electro to a Quickened enemy, increasing the DMG of this attack.
Spread
Triggers if you apply Dendro to a Quickened enemy, increasing the DMG of this attack.
Due to each reaction giving a different effect and the availability of the type of characters being different for each element, some reactions end up performing far better in the overall meta of the game. For example, you'll not get nearly as much value from Burning, Crystallize, or Superconduct as you can from Vaporize, Melt, or Quicken.
