Fortnite: Season 3 Chapter 5 - How To Find And Use A Ship In A Bottle

The Cursed Sails event is live in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 and, as always, there's at least one loot item proving to not only be elusive to find but also not the most straightforward to use: the Ship in a Bottle. Like all loot, there's a chance of this appearing in any chests, but it's rare.

Fortunately, there are at least two foolproof ways to get a Ship in a Bottle and considering you'll likely need at least two to complete the relevant quest, we're going to tell you exactly where to get them.

Where To Find The Ship In A Bottle

Other than finding it randomly in a normal loot chest, which is possible, as shown in our video above, there are two surefire ways to get your hands on one:

You'll want to grab at least a couple to ensure you have enough to complete the quest of destroying 100 structures or items with the Ship in a Bottle.

From Chests In The Cave Near Jack Sparrow

If you go to the cove just southwest of Grand Glacier, the one with Jack Sparrow standing outside, you can go into the cave behind him.

Go as far as you can go, collecting loot along the way, then destroy the dark grey slab at the very back to reach another cave. Inside are three rare Pirates of the Caribbean-themed chests that each contain a Ship in a Bottle, two on the floor and one in the mast just above you.

When you're ready to go, don't leave through the way you entered, instead, use the portaloo for a quick exit!

Purchased From Jack Sparrow

Outside of the cave in the cove, just southwest of Grand Glacier, Jack Sparrow is there and sells one Ship in a Bottle for 200 gold once per match.

If someone has already bought the Ship in a Bottle from Jack in the match, you will not be able to buy it.

Within The Ship In Shipwreck Shallows

If you head to Shipwreck Shallows in the center of the map you can find a Ship in a Bottle in the bottom hull of the ship.

How To Use The Ship In A Bottle

Once you have a Ship in a Bottle, we do not recommend using it near Jack or in the cave where you found them as there aren't enough items to destroy.

The Ship in a Bottle summons a ghostly ship and it will sail straight forward destroying anything in its path.

The best way to use the Ship in a Bottle to destroy 100 structures or objects for the quest is to go to a town and face a house before using it to try and take out as much as possible in one go.
