Exclusive: First Gameplay Trailer For Planet Zoo: Console Edition Revealed

Planet Zoo: Console Edition was announced last month, bringing the 2019 PC-exclusive management simulator to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It won't be a long wait at all too, with the Planet Zoo port set to be with us on March 26, so in just a few week's time.
Now, we have the first gameplay trailer of Planet Zoo: Console Edition, and our first new trailer since the announcement last month. Shared exclusively with TheGamer, developer Frontier Developments gives us our first look at the game running on console, showing us what we can expect from the game when it launches on PS5 and Xbox next month.
Check out the exclusive gameplay trailer below.
As you can tell from the gameplay trailer, Planet Zoo tasks you with running your own zoo, minding the animals and building attractions. Across all the DLC packs, there are more than 100 species of animals you can house in your zoo. To get all of them in the console port, you'll have to pick up the Ultimate Edition for £99.99. If you're not fussed about having them all from the get-go, you'll get more than 70 species in the base game, which is priced at £39.99.
Planet Zoo was met with positive reviews when it launched on PC back in 2019. It sits at an 81 on Metacritic and has positive reviews from general audiences too. From what we can see in the trailer, we'll be getting much the same experience with the port, albeit made with a controller in mind, and made to work with Xbox and PlayStation's hardware.

CloseIf you're interested in checking this management sim when it launches in March, pre-orders are open now on the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts. There are three different versions of the game: the standard Console Edition, Deluxe Edition, and the Ultimate Edition. No matter which one you go for, pre-ordering the game will unlock a pre-order bonus of three exclusive animals: the Pygmy Hippopotamus, Komodo Dragon, and Thomson’s Gazelle.
The developer says that there will be 14 DLC packs released in the future, so the console port should be supported for some time. Getting the Ultimate Edition will act as a season pass for all of these DLC releases, but you should be able to buy them separately as well.
Planet Zoo: Console Edition will launch on March 26, 2014. It's developed and published by Frontier Developments.
