Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Fans Want The Seventh Infantry To Return In Part 3

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is full of great moments, it can be difficult to choose just one that stands out. However, when it comes to moments that improve upon the original game, you'd struggle to find one better than the parade in Junon, as Cloud forms an unbreakable bond with several members of the Seventh Infantry, a group of Shinra soldiers tasked with representing their unit in the parade.
Afterward, you're tasked with fighting your way through Junon with your new squadron, each of which have your back along the way and help out in fights while unknowingly helping Cloud leave the city. It's a great moment that expands upon the original really well, adding some of that remake charm that runs throughout the series. It also managed to establish a bond between the Seventh Infantry and the game's fans, who have called for them to return in some capacity in Part 3.

Better late than never to figure out one of the game's defining mechanics.
PostsIt was Reddit user Minev1128 who declared their love for the Seventh Infantry on the Final Fantasy subreddit earlier this week, hoping that they see them again in Part 3. They were joined by many others who also really enjoyed the Seventh Infantry sections, along with their leader, who one person has taken to calling "Commander Waifu", as the game doesn't actually give her an official name.
There are even several people discussing how they could potentially fit into the sequel, and a popular fan theory is that they'll be at the helm of the Highwind. We know that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's sequel is going to have an airship, and while Cid is a pretty talented pilot in his own right, he'll need a crew to actually make it fly. A lot of people think this is where the Seventh Infantry will help out, escorting Cloud and the gang across Midgar by controlling and maintaining the Highwind.
It seems like a given that the Seventh Infantry will feature in some capacity in Part 3, especially with how beloved they are. If Square Enix managed to bring back the Shinra Middle Manager that had a handful of lines in Remake, it makes sense that it would find some way to bring back the Seventh. There are a bunch of returning characters in Rebirth, for better and worse, so let's keep our fingers crossed that Cloud's squad makes it back into Part 3.
