Fields Of Mistria: How To Increase Town Rank

Here are the quickest ways to increase your town's rank in Fields Of Mistria.

You begin with a basic sword, and many villagers generously give you their old tools. However, there's one crucial piece of equipment you lack: armor. Your ragged clothes won't protect you from the dangers lurking in the Mines, and as you unlock new biomes with stronger monsters, the need for proper armor becomes increasingly important.

Fields of Mistria is currently in Early Access, so the information below is subject to change.

How To Get Armor

Close

There are three possible ways to acquire armor in Fields of Mistria.

Crafting

Outside March's house, you can interact with the Anvil to craft a variety of tools and equipment. Armor is also crafted at the Anvil, but you'll need metal ingots to make it.

There are currently 60 floors in the Mines, and after every 20 floors, you'll enter a new biome. So far, the game only allows you to explore three biomes within the Mines: the Upper Mines, Tide Caverns, and Deep Earth.

From these biomes, you can gather Copper Ore, Iron Ore, and Silver Ore, respectively, and these ores can be smelted into ingots, which can then be forged into armor.

However, the entrance to the Tide Caverns and Deep Earth is closed shut by a magical seal. To break the seal, you'll be tasked with gathering certain items, which you'll have to offer at the altar.

Blacksmith March's Shop

While crafting is a great way to save a few Tesserae, if you’ve got some spare coins and prefer convenience, then swing by Blacksmith March's place. You'll find all kinds of tools, armor, and even ores that you can purchase from him.

Treasure Chests

While exploring the Mines, you might come across treasure chests on its various floors. These chests come in three types, ranging from wood to gold chests, and hold valuable loot like ores, crafting recipes, cosmetics, and sometimes even armor pieces.

Gold chests, in particular, offer the best rewards and have a higher chance of containing armor pieces.

To increase the likelihood of chests appearing in the Mines, you should invest in the Treasure Hunter and Treasured perks for Mining.

How To Equip Armor

Unlike cosmetics, which can simply be equipped in the character customization menu, you'll need to head into the equipment tab of your backpack to equip armor. Here, you only need to drag the type of armor into its respective slot to enjoy the increased defense.

However, it's worth mentioning that armor doesn't visually appear on your character, though the defensive boost is still active, and only cosmetics can change your attire and overall look.
