Fallout TV Series' Vault Tec Phone Number Teases News In "33 Weeks"

Summary
- The Fallout series features a Vault-Tec infomercial complete with a phone number. Ring it and you'll hear blood-curdling screams, but text it and you'll be told to wait 33 weeks.
- That suggests an announcement on November 29, 2024, which fans speculate could be news for the next season, a new Fallout game, or even a remake.
- We know that the crew is preparing to film in California for the next season, so it's possible that we'll find out more about what the show has planned.
During the Fallout TV series, Walter Goggin's character Cooper Howard holds an infomercial all about the vaults, encouraging viewers to call the on-screen number to get a spot for when the apocalypse finally rears its three ugly radioactive heads. Naturally, fans rang the number to see who was waiting on the other end.
As reported by IGN, you'll be met with disturbing sounds of what sounds like people getting tortured. Fitting for a vault, but probably not something you wanna hear at 3am after binging the entire show. However, if you text the number, you'll get something a little less harrowing.
If you want to try this for yourself, text/ring 213-25-VAULT (213-258-2858) in the US, or 001-213-258-2858 in the UK.
"Thank you for texting Vault-Tec," the automated reply reads. "The next available appointment is 33 weeks from now, please stand by!"
If you opt-in for recurring marketing and other texts, you'll get a follow-up that says, "Congratulations! We may or may not be in touch if an appointment becomes available."
What Happens In 33 Weeks?
Fans quickly worked out that the text is teasing something for November 29, 2024. We know the crew are already preparing to film in California for a second season, so it could be news about the future of the show.
The number '33' is of course a reference to Vault 33, where Lucy comes from in the show.
Some fans optimistically think it's teasing a new game, but that's incredibly unlikely. Bethesda only recently started work on The Elder Scrolls 6, its next major release, and with how long development cycles are these days, that means Fallout 5 is a long way off. Unless a spin-off was quietly greenlit, we'll be waiting a while for the next major instalment.
However, there is the possibility of remakes and remasters. Perhaps Fallout 3 and New Vegas will be brought to current-gen and Switch, or maybe the old isometric Interplay games will finally come to modern platforms so people can see where it all began.
All we can do at the moment is speculate, but it looks like something is getting announced in 33 weeks.
