Enshrouded has a bevy of resources that are acquired in various ways, such as overworld looting or even mining. Sulfur falls under the latter and it is a bit confusing to find if you don't know what it looks like or where it spawns.

Yucca is a late-game fruit that you can harvest and eat in Enshrouded. Here, you can learn where to find it.
PostsOn the bright side, Sulfur has more spawns or nodes compared to other mineable resources like Tin Ores, Copper Ores, or Iron Ores, and they are much easier to spot as well. In this guide, you'll learn where the best Sulfur farming spots are and what recipes or crafts it unlocks in the future.
Enshrouded is still in early access. The game might updated in the future. If there are changes that affect this guide in any shape or form, the article will be amended.
Where Do You Find Sulfur?
Sulfur looks like yellowish rocks spread around the mountainside, but you can also check if they spawn on the ground or any other area. They spawn all around the Kindlewastes area.
You don't even need the Ancient Spire in Kindlewastes unlocked since they spawn practically anywhere in the desert biome. In the image above, you can see the Kindlewastes fast travel point. To the west of it, the area is already in the desert biome.
You don't have to cross the looming enshrouded area to cross the other side; Sulfur should spawn around the mountainside in this area. However, if you do have the fast travel unlocked, you can also look for Sulfur locations near the Ancient Spire or glide your way past the enshrouded area.
The Best Sulfur Farm Location
The image above is a bit confusing since the fast travel point in the image is a self-made one or a Flame Altar. The area you are looking for is directly to the west of the Kindlewaste Ancient Spire. The circled area in the image contains huge chunks of Sulfur nodes.
You can bring out at least three Pickaxes along with all the mining skill points to ensure that you maximize every Sulfur node. Just one trip from this area could give you upwards of 300 Sulfurs, so it is best to free up some of your inventory space before going.
This area is right in the middle of the desert, which will have some roaming enemies like scorpions and drakes. These enemies are quite annoying since they are both extremely dangerous. Scorpions apply poison on hit, which can practically one-shot you if you don't have any sort of healing or a Constitution buff.
There is another great farming spot to the north of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire. The location shown in the image is a Cave Passage that is free of enemies, which makes it a lot easier to farm resources.
The Cave Passage contains Sulfur, Iron Ore, and Luminous Growth nodes inside. In case you need Sulfur along with the other resources, this is the best spot to maximize your farm. In fact, this spot is also one of the best spots to farm Iron Ores.
The Cave Passage has significantly fewer Sulfur nodes compared to the first spot. You should plan out which resources you need and choose between the two spots. The first one has some close Lapislazuli nodes, including some Feathers you can farm if you defeat the drakes surrounding the area. The second spot just adds some Iron Ores.
What Is Sulfur Used For?
Sulfur unlocks a ton of crafting options, especially if you consider that it also unlocks other reagents that unlock other recipes. Here's a quick list of recipes Sulfur unlocks:
- Red Fabric
- Ghost Glider
- Shroud Meteor
- Eternal Light Burst
- Eternal Acid Bite
- Black Powder
- Enshrouded Oil
For mage builds, all these new spells will sound like music to their ears. You have one of the best spells in the game, the Shroud Meteor spell, and you also unlock two of the most powerful eternal spells, the Eternal Light Burst and the Eternal Acid Bite.
These eternal spells are extremely hard to craft since they have an unlimited number of uses, so you should start farming other resources. The Eternal Acid Bite spell alone needs 20 Ammonia Glands and 20 Glass pieces.
Apart from the spells, you also unlock the Ghost Glider, which is one of the best gliders in the game. It only needs a few Sulfurs to craft, but if you have other players in your server, you might need to craft more than just one.
Black Powder and Enshrouded Oil are both reagents, which also unlock other useful recipes.Enshrouded Oil turns Huge Chests into Magical Huge Chests, which is a great quality-of-life help for base management.
The Grinding Stones tool unlocks the Black Powder recipe once you acquire a piece of Sulfur. You can start crafting Black Powders to create your own Explosive Arrows. If you are using a ranger build, Explosive Arrows will be one of the strongest arrows you can use to defeat multiple enemies at once.
