The platformer has aged surprisingly well, and it's still easy to pick up and play in the modern era.
The game has stood the test of time so well, that the modern remake changed almost nothing, despite the looks of the game, showing just how strong the foundations of this collectathon are. If you are a fan of 3D platformers, but have somehow managed to avoid the Spyro series, the first game is still the perfect place to start.

PostsWhile the PS2 houses both the original title and the fantastic sequel, the blend of Disney and Square Enix magic that made the first title such a game-changer cements Kingdom Hearts as an iconic masterpiece of the era. It also helps that this is where the story of the series is the most manageable as well.

One spin-off that has stood the test of time well is Crisis Core, a prequel to the phenomenal Final Fantasy 7.
The action-RPG gameplay would go on to inspire the style of gameplay that the mainline Final Fantasy franchise uses today, making it incredibly ahead of its time. Following Zack Fair is also a lot of fun, with his optimistic personality standing out from the more diverse crowd of the other Final Fantasy protagonists.

However, returning to the original cut of the first title in this short series shows you just how well it has aged.
The Last Of Us masters the combination of narrative and game elements, with neither lacking nor letting up through the game's entire run. Having such a good mix of story and gameplay is something games still struggle with, so it's impressive that such a masterclass still holds up.
