News for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is spreading like wildfire, and Friday's drop might be the best information yet.

Already, we've seen the likes of Gohan and Piccolo confirmed, along with Goten, Kid Trunks, Caulifla and Kale. We've also learned that Goku's voice actor has put 80 hours of VO work into Sparking Zero, and the game may finally release on October 1. Oh, and 5v5 will also be returning.

Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku Will Join A Loaded Roster

For the uninitiated, Master Ultra Instinct Goku or MUI Goku for short, is one of Goku's most powerful forms. It debuted at the tail end of the Dragon Ball: Super anime, and the form allows Goku to fight autonomously, or without thinking. It is as cool as it sounds and supremely overpowered, making it the perfect inclusion for Sparking Zero.

That inclusion seemingly gained extra traction when other users also spotted the change, as well as the last recorded update being May 24.

When the game does launch, MUI Goku will be one of several Dragon Ball: Super characters to be on the base roster. Already, Bandai Namco had confirmed that the likes of Jiren, Dyspo and Toppo would also be on the roster, giving fans hope that the Tournament of Power will be included.

Either way, Sparking Zero will be noteworthy for being the first mainline game to have Super characters at launch. While Dragon Ball: FighterZ had a few Super characters on its launch roster and several more through DLC, Sparking Zero is a true mainline entry with it being a spiritual successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

What's more, Sparking Zero will also potentially be the first game to allow players to go through the entire story of the manga and anime. To this point, no Dragon Ball game has covered the story of Super in full. MUI Goku's inclusion is the first step towards that.
