Sonic Speed Simulator studio Gamefam was accused of multiple things over the weekend. From crunch to breaching contracts by not giving terminated employees the appropriate notice period. Despite a statement from the studio responding to those allegations, a number of other former employees have come forward, alleging to have had similar experiences while working with the developer.Gamefam published a statement on Monday in which it details all of the perks its employees get. In the statement are claims that its employees have a flexible schedule with no mandated working hours, and that its leadership team has an open door policy. The statement directly references the allegations made over the weekend writing, “we're saddened by the outpouring of vitriol directed against our team members.”RELATED: Sonic Prime Review: Cheerful, Energic, And BlandGamefam flat out denying the claims made against it by Digital Purgatory and issuing a statement appears to have been the final straw for others claiming to have been treated the same way. “When I was fired, they simply ghosted me instead of telling me anything. I had to ask around,” one former employee wrote, replying directly to the tweet in which the statement was shared.

“I was laid off without warning, not even given a 2 weeks notice. Here they're saying they never layed anyone off before,” Voleraii tweeted, again in reply to the statement. The claims that Gamefam terminates employees without reason nor warning lines up with some of the other allegations made. Another former employee claims they received an email informing them they had been let go three days after the termination was supposed to have happened.

These allegations being made at this time isn't a coincidence. It comes not only after Gamefam reportedly let go of a number of employees with no warning right before the holidays, but it's also an attempt to get people to boycott Sonic Speed Simulator, an official Sonic game within Roblox affiliated with Sega. Now is also a significant time to make these claims as Netflix show Sonic Prime's first episode debuted a week early through Roblox.
