Destiny 2: The Final Shape has added a handful of new Exotic weapons to the sandbox, one of which is a Sniper Rifle that can fire Golden Gun rounds. Warlocks and Titans can finally feel the sheer power of Golden Gun, while Hunter mains can heavily augment this weapon with Celestial Nighthawk to create a devastating burst DPS weapon.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape - Ergo Sum Exotic Quest Guide

Ergo Sum is one of the strongest Swords in Destiny 2. Here's how to get it.

But as with most Exotics, you'll need to get your hands on Still Hunt first. This weapon is tied to a post-campaign quest from Cayde-6 that should only take an hour or so to complete. This guide will go over how to start this quest, cover the core objectives in the quest, and give a brief overview of how Still Hunt works.

How To Start The Wild Card Quest

You will unlock the "Wild Card" quest shortly after completing the Final Shape campaign. After you beat the campaign, speak with your Ghost and complete the "Destined Heroes" quest they give you. This should unlock the "Wild Card" quest with Cayde-6. Speak with him in the Lost City, then start the Wild Card mission when you're ready. The mission itself has no modifiers and lacks Power scaling, so it should be fairly easy for most players.

Complete The Wild Card Mission

Close

Wild Card is broken up into three sections, all of which require you to get into some shenanigans with Cayde-6 and the Crow. There are no complicated mechanics or puzzles here. The start of the mission will ask you to investigate the area. You'll find a few drained Screeb corpses on the southern edge of the zone, directly across from spawn. Hop on your Sparrow and drive down to the bodies, then inspect the corpses.

Investigate the surrounding area, defeating any Fallen you find patrolling the zone. Once you've scanned a few bodies, Crow will suggest you make camp beside a nearby waterfall. Head to the marker on your map and create a camp. It's at this point that the quest will turn into a chain of short adventure missions. Meditate in the tent to progress the mission.

Locate The Energy Signature

This section is fairly easy. Head to the cave in the southeast corner of The Landing, and you should find a small band of dead Cabal. Place down a Rally Flag and summon the boss. This enemy is a fairly durable War Beast that will summon Taken forces throughout the fight. Simply damage the boss and enter the energy cylinders when the War Beast becomes immune. Repeat the process until it's dead, then return to camp.

Destroy Taken Blights

During your short meditation, the Taken have created a foothold near your Guardians' camp. Defeat all the Taken surrounding the Blights that dot the area. Killing all the Taken will destroy the Blight automatically. Clear out all four Blights, eliminate the Dread enemy behind the attack, then go back to camp.

Draw Out The "Megashank"

Cayde-6 has a lead on a possible "Megashank" that's behind the loss of your group's Ether tank. Head to the waypoint Cayde sends your way, then hold interact next to the secret passage to load the new mission.

You'll be placed in a sniper's nest with limited room to maneuver, but you have the perfect vantage point against the Fallen's small army of Shanks. Equip a long-range weapon and destroy any Shanks you see. This will draw out the Heavy Shank boss. Whenever the boss goes immune, destroy more of its minions to remove its invulnerable shield. Repeat until the boss is dead, then return to camp.

Defeat Lil'Liks, Harvester Of The Witness

Close

It turns out the source of all the Dark Ether is none other than a Scorn Abomination, one that has been creating a small army of Screebs by its lonesome. Head to the marked cave in Transgression to start the boss fight. It'll be marked on your HUD. The cave will be filled with over a dozens Screebs, but a few well-placed shots should trigger a chain reaction of explosions.

The boss itself is fairly easy to defeat. Keep your distance and avoid any Screebs. A good Rocket Launcher or Grenade Launcher will make short work of Lil'Liks. Once you remove a third of its HP, the boss will retreat and spawn dozens of Screebs. You must kill the Screebs and grab the Dark Ether they drop. All the Dark Ether you collect can then be banked inside the Ether barrel you lost earlier. Ten Dark Ether will start the next phase.

Each phase is the same as before, so you'll need to repeat the mote dunking section once more to defeat the boss. Focus on the Screebs first, use your Heavy on the boss, dunk motes, and you should beat the Abomination with little issue. After a short cutscene and some dialogue at camp, return to Cayde-6 in the Lost Tower to claim your new Sniper Rifle.

Short-Action Stock

+15 Handling

Still Hunt is a 90 RPM Solar Sniper Rifle that can load Golden Gun rounds as you land precision hits. Orbs of Power also build up stacks, making this a strong burst DPS option in raids and dungeons. The weapon itself is a standard Adaptive Frame Sniper Rifle with above-average stats and great aim assist, which is what you ideally want for PvP.

In PvE, the main use for Still Hunt is Hunter burst DPS. That's because this weapon can inherit Celestial Nighthawk's Exotic trait. If you have Nighthawk equipped and trigger Still Hunt's perk, you will load a single, high-damage Golden Gun shot. This lets you shoot two Celestial Nighthawk shots in a single DPS phase, one from Still Hunt and the other from your Super. The burst DPS potential is monstrous, provided you can build up stacks beforehand.
