PostsFrom weaknesses and resistances to battle strategies and recommended party setups, we've got it all. Here's what you need to know about taking down Ordemos and claiming your reward.
How To Unlock The 'The Incarnate In The Woods' Bounty
The 'The Incarnate in the Woods' bounty unlocks on 9/26 and will be available from any Recruitment Centre. There's no deadline for this bounty and if you accept as soon as it's unavailble, you've have a month to complete it.
It will take you two days to travel to the Abandoned Path.
Quest Prep
You can speak to the Informant in the Skyward Tavern in Altabury Heights and purchase intel on the Giant of the Abandoned Path for 3,500 reeve. Or, you can save yourself some cash by just reading this guide.
On top of the usual healing items you should keep in reserve at all times, be aware not to bother using weapons with Electric affinities and maybe bring some Panacea as Ordemos can inflict Daze.
Recommended Party Setup
There are loads of viable party setups that can be used here and this is far from the most challenging bounty, but we've broken down our general setup that we used below and why.
Character
Archetype
Formation
Strategy
Protagonist
Prince/Seeker Lineage/Healer Lineage
Back
You'll need a healer for your party, and really any Archetype with the right inherited skills would work. We recommend Patra to remove status ailments and Dekunda to remove debuffs, as well as the usuals like Medica.
Any
Dark Knight/Any
Front
We recommend having Dark Knight play the role of tank for your party (likely Hulkenberg), and additionally, if you have Thief and Healer in your party as recommended, you'll get the Peerless Shadow Synthesis Skill that deals severe physical Dark damage.
Any
Thief Lineage/Warlock
Back
Thief has a couple of Dark magic abilities, and if you have Gunner, Masked Dancer, or Beserker in your team, you'll unlock the Godkiller Synthesis Skill, which deals Extreme Dark damage.
Alternatively, Warlock also utilises Dark abilities and can offer some great Dark magic Synthesis Skills if paired with Healer/Seeker for Mamudodyne, Mage, Masked Dancer, or Summoner for Netherworld Tree, or Warrior, Thief, or Masked Dancer for Child of Death.
Any
Any Damage Dealer Archetype
Front
Any damage dealing Archetype will work, just try to focus on Dark magic, avoid Electric magic, and it's not worth using any Archetypes that focus on Slash/Pierce/Strike damage as Ordemos is resistant to all three.
Using equipment with resistance to Electric magic or Dark affinity is a good choice.
How To Spawn Ordemos, Grudge's Fang
Ordemos won't be readily available to battle in the Abandoned Path, first you'll need to take out some Rigopetia. There are four marked on your map, but you only need to defeat three, after which you'll automatically be thrown into battle with Ordemos.
Movesets And Affinities
You have to defeat three Rigopetia before Ordemos will appear so we've listed details for both Rigopetia and Ordemos below.

Battle Strategy
If you have any applicable skills to buff your team's attack or defence, use them on your opening turn, and if not just go straight for the throat and use your hardest hitting Dark moves (Synthesis Skills if you have them).
Ordemos will open with War Cry, which will drop the Attack and Defence of all your party members. It will use it periodically, so it's wise to have a party member with Dekunda to shift those debuffs.
Earsplitting Shriek can cause Daze, so stay on top of removing this.
Ordemos will also use Soul Cry to give itself two more Turn Icons, then will Charge up and take aim, clueing you in that it's about to unleash a powerful Slam Shatter attack hitting all party members on its next turn. You have two options here:
- As suggested by the informant, you can dispel its power, which will make it Weak.
- Guard with your whole team to reduce the damage they take.
If you do start taking a bit too much damage, just ensure you keep your party healed so it doesn't go south fast. Overall, the battle should be pretty straightforward, just focus on hitting its weaknesses and watch out for those charged up Slam Shatter attacks.
Rewards For Defeating Ordemos, Grudge's Fang
You'll receive 75,000 reeve and earn four points of Courage once you hand in the Bounty at the Recruitment Centre.
You receive a Talisman of the Foul after defeating Ordemos, as well as a Bloodstained Talon to hand in to the Recruitment Centre.
