Winning in Clash Royale is a feeling that is hard to replicate in other games. There’s just nothing else that comes close to taking your opponent’s tower or just barely defending a strong push right before the time runs out. Every season the meta changes, allowing you to experience a new side of the game, and with Double Evolutions there's even more variety for players who have reached King Tower Level Fifteen.

PostsA single evolution can already easily turn the tide of battle in your favor, but with double evolutions there are whole new archetypes to explore that are exclusive to the top players. Since there's so many evolution combos, changes within decks are bound to happen, but so far these double evolution decks have outperformed most others with their absurdly high winning percentages in Top Ladder.
Updated April 11, 2024 by Umair Malik: We've updated this article to include some decks that have risen in popularity due to some balance changes that play well with certain Double Evolution Combos. They're ranked according to their average Win Percentage in Top Ladder at the time of writing.
10 3.0 X Bow Cycle
X Bow And Cycling, What Could Go Wrong?
The X Bow decks are built for defense and have a completely different playstyle than most other decks in the meta. The focus is on chip damage on the opponent’s tower by defending your X bow with a well-placed Tesla. Unfortunately, there’s way too many counters to the X Bow, but with this cycle deck it’s possible to out cycle your opponent and get back to your X Bow as fast as possible while their counter isn’t on hand.
With Double Evolutions, you get even more versatility by throwing down an Evolved Knight into the mix to defend and pressure your opponent and Evolved Archers to shoot down whatever your opponent throws from long range. The double evolution slots have made this deck more viable than ever and using the knight and archers as your two Evos are the optimum combo.
9 Evo Recruits Archer Balloon
Nothing Can Stop The Evolution Recruits Balloon Combo
The name of the game with this deck is to use the Lumberjack and Balloon in conjunction and have the Lumberjack absorb the bulk of the damage of whatever defense your opponent comes up with. As soon as the Lumberjack dies, it’ll drop a rage which will make your Balloon do even more damage. Using Royal Recruits for defense and then using their evolved form for offense is also a great strategy, enhancing this deck’s overall versatility.

If you like the strategic card battle action of Clash Royale, there are a few other games we're sure you'd enjoy!
PostsEvery card in this deck plays a role, the Little Prince can be used as a defensive champion, and the second Evolution slot is given to the archers to be used against any air troops coming your way. The arrows can be used to destroy any swarm of troops, and the Snowball can be used to slow down Hog or Balloon pushes. Use the Fisherman as a counter to Hog Cycle decks and activate your King Tower to build an even better defense, and you've got yourself a great overall deck to show off.
8 Evo Firecracker 2.8 Hog Cycle
Another Hog Cycle Deck Has Entered The Arena
It can’t be a normal season of Clash Royale without at least one Hog Cycle deck dominating Top Ladder. The double Evolution format has made it even more powerful than it used to be and is now so much more fun to play with as well. The formula is essentially the same as all Hog Cycle decks; cycle to your Hog as much as possible while cycling to your Evo Knight and Evo Firecracker for defense and potential offense if the opponent fumbles into your counter push.
The Log can quickly take out swarm troops, while the Earthquake can take out any defensive building your opponent places, aiding the Hog Rider into getting a couple of hits on the tower. You can use either a bomb tower or a Tesla, depending on the variation of this deck you prefer.
7 Giant Graveyard Bowler
Try This If You Hate Going Against The Cannoneer
Yet another archetype from previous seasons that bleeds into new seasons is the Giant Graveyard Bowler combo that counters the annoying Cannoneer tower troop. It’s a fairly easy deck to use, with the Giant and the Graveyard dealing the grunt of the damage to the towers and the Bowler being used defensively alongside the tornado for maximum damage.
The Evo Bats are a great support troop alongside the Evo Archers which can take out any potential defensive building placed to counter the giant from across the bridge. The downside is that this deck has its own counters and, in the wrong matchups, can be useless but in the current meta there isn’t too much to worry about.
6 Lavaloon Mega Minion
An Air Troop Dominant Deck That Can Win Games
The Lavaloon Mega Minion has made a massive comeback with a high win percentage in Top Ladder thanks to the additional Evos adding even more value to the deck. Players are already under equipped against air troops in the current meta and, to add insult to injury, the Evolution Bats synergizing with the Lava pups leads to three crown victories. It’s very easy to overwhelm the opponent thanks to the variety of cards in this deck, from ground defenses to spells like the snowball, and having the Evolution Barbarians adds even more value. The only downside to this deck has been the fact that it takes quite a bit of skill before you can do something with it, but most people who are level fifteen have played this game for years and can get some real value with the Lavaloon combo.
5 Goblin Giant Sparky Rage
The Potential Damage You Can Inflict With An Angry Goblin Giant Is More Than You Think
The Goblin Giant Sparky Rage archetype dominated for a couple of seasons till the Goblin Giant finally got its long awaited nerf. They didn’t nerf the card into the ground, which is what Supercell usually does, but now that it’s fairly balanced, this new deck isn’t as devastating as before but with the right evolution combo, it can surpass its glory days.
Right now, this deck has upwards of a sixty percent win rate in Top Ladder, making it one of the most effective decks in the game if you know how to play it well. Using a cheap Evo like the Bats as a defensive swarm, and the Evo Barbarians boosts the deck’s defensive potential and can build up a nice counter push as well. The Goblin Giant serves as the main win condition, with the Sparky defending it. The Rage spell is the cherry on top that holds everything together, making this deck one of the best double evolution decks in the meta.
4 Royal Giant Rage
A Raged Up Royal Giant Melts Towers
The Royal Giant is an underrated evolution, guaranteed to do massive damage to the towers while pushing back any swarms of troops meant to counter it. The fact that the cards in this deck counter most of the other decks in the meta makes it stand out, and pair it with the one-elixir skeletons, and you’ve got yourself a killer defense as well.
The Fisherman can pull down Hog Riders to activate the king tower, while the Little Prince and the Royal Ghost can tank hits for the bigger troops your opponent plays. Put down the rage for extra effect, and you’ve got yourself a solid overall deck.
3 Goblin Drill Bomber
Your Opponent Can Very Easily Fumble Against This Deck
The Goblin Drill buff has made it much more viable and a solid win condition that guarantees chip damage every time you play it. If you position the Goblin Drill well, you can also line up the Evolved Bomber to get extra hits on the tower in case your opponent plays any troop to counter the drill.

PostsThe Skeletons, again, provide good defense and a potentially lethal offense if ignored, and everything else just plays along perfectly, countering major threats while also having the potential for a strong counter push.
2 Goblin Drill 3.0 Cycle
A Fast-Paced Cycle Deck That Doesn't Have A Hog Rider In It
Operating on the same principle as other Goblin Drill decks, this deck focuses on quick cycle cards to get occasional damage onto the tower with Wall Breakers and the Drill. The Evolved Bomber can be utilized defensively, too, and can also line up an attack on the tower if your opponent plays into it.
The Evolved Wall Breakers are really tough to counter without a decent defensive building, so they almost always connect. The focus is pressure right up until double elixir, where this deck truly shines. The fast-paced cycle forces your opponent into using up any counters to your win conditions till you eventually break through and win.
1 Elixir Golem Skeleton King Rage
An Unlikely Combo For Those Pesky Goblin Drill Players
The Elixir Golem Skeleton King combo is an unlikely win condition that found its way into the meta by being the perfect counter to the extremely popular Goblin Drill decks. The Bats and the Skeletons are secondary to the deck but serve as great cycle cards that you can evolve fast while also quickly playing the elixir pump to get back the elixir you gave to your opponent with the Golem.
The Night Witch, in conjunction with the Elixir Golem, creates an unstoppable push that can easily overwhelm anyone you play against.
