Cities: Skylines 2 Bug Accidentally Creates Homelessness Crisis, Players Panic

Summary
- Cities: Skylines 2's homelessness mechanic is apparently bugged, causing armies of NPCs to fill up the streets.
- Players resort to extreme measures like getting rid of public parks or just banishing the homeless from their cities entirely.
- One of the solutions is a new mod - literally called Bye Bye Homeless.
Cities: Skylines 2 players are desperate to fix the homelessness crisis that's swept the game - by modding the homeless out of their cities entirely. This comes as players complain that a bug is making it impossible to bring down the homeless population through conventional means, leading them to take drastic measures to "save" their cities.
Out of context, these solutions are absolutely hilariously evil. Some are bringing in bulldozers and refusing to build public parks, so the homeless have nowhere to go. Others are forcibly evicting anyone from their city if they fail to find a home within an hour and a half of needing a place to stay. Bit harsh.
Cities: Skyline 2 Players Are Combatting Homelessness - By Combatting The Homeless
According to players, there is currently a bug in Cities: Skylines 2 where the homeless population will continue to grow, even if you build a bunch of affordable homes for everyone. In some cases, it's causing armies of homeless NPCs to pour into the streets.
So, players are coming together to share ideas on how they can stop this. Every single proposal sounds completely soulless and evil, but the best one has to be just modding them out of the game entirely. Better yet, this mod is called Bye Bye Homeless. You can download it here. Similarly, players have had to remove landlords for causing too many problems, but I think more of us can get on board with that idea.

Cities: Skylines 2 isn’t a perfect game - but it will be in five year’s time.
PostsOn the whole, the conversation around the homeless bug is wild as an outsider. Here are just some of the posts in the Cities: Skylines subreddit that are about this issue:
- "Best Way to Get Rid of Homeless People"
- "The homeless people found a better way to be annoying: mill around at the entrance of the bus station for no reason"
- "My Homeless Population Walking The Highway Out Of Town 💖"
Of course, as some are pointing out in the replies, this uh, isn't exactly that different from how unhoused people are treated in real life.
It remains to be seen if the apparent bug will be patched out by the devs over at Paradox. In the meantime, we can expect more community-led solutions like this - and some very confused outsiders looking on in horror.
