Cat Quest 3 has a lean number of side quests, but each is fun in its own way, and most offer a great reward. There is perhaps no better side quest in the game than "Lost and Found", a three-part tour of the Purribean Sea that kicks back up when you least expect it and leads players to at least one very cool battle.

PostsWith this guide, you'll learn how to initiate "Lost and Found", where to find each item (well, mostly - see below), and how to survive that aforementioned battle. Set sail for some treasure-seeking optional side quest goostatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/ess!
This guide is mostly complete, but we're still working on ascertaining the location of the Necropawmicon. We'll update as soon as we can.
Mama Milka's "Jug O' Milk" Item
From what we can tell, you probably do not need to complete the three parts of "Lost and Found" in a particular order. That said, we're listing things in the order in which we did them just in case.
There's a good chance you'll end up doing Mama Milka's part first, regardless, since the relevant item can be found quite early.
The tavern owner, Mama Milka, misses her beloved Jug o' Milk. We found the item before she ever mentioned it, so it's quite possible there's no dialogue trigger.
You'll find the Jug o' Milk on the large island just southeast of Pawt Purvanna (the island with the tavern and upgrade shops).
At the southwest tip of the island, on the lowest of the three finger-like stretches of land, there is a canoe with a note attached. Investigate, and you'll read the directions of a puzzle.
Follow along Purrier Beach as the note instructs beginning where you've found the note. There are five starfish in a row, slowly marked along the sand. Between the fourth and fifth starfish, you'll now get a "key" icon, so press the confirm button to get the Jug o' Milk.
Bring the Jug o' Milk to Mama Milka, who will now tell you a tale. Your work is far from finished. She'll ask you to take the Jug o' Milk to Cathulhu's Rest.
Be advised that Cathulhu is very difficult unless you've upgraded your ship substantially, which will not be the case if you get the Jug o' Milk early, as we did. Feel free to give it a try, but at low levels, and with basic ship components, it will be no easy feat.

PostsHow To Defeat Cathulhu
You'll find this location near the northeast corner of the map. Head there (it's marked accordingly), step on the patch of ground, and you should be given a prompt to press the confirm button. Do so when you're ready - make sure to save at a Fort Beakon beforehand!
If you've set sail for Cathulhu's Rest prior to receiving this item, nothing will happen. The Jug o' Milk is mandatory for the chance to battle Cathulhu.
Upon its emergence, Cathulhu seals off the area, so you won't be able to escape. Cathulhu's health bar lists it at level 65, with offensive and defensive stats to match this fairly high number. It will also grow more powerful as its health depletes.
At first, Cathulhu will alternate between these attacks:
- Seemingly random tentacle strikes from the water, followed by
- Rapid sets of tentacle strikes that follow your ship, followed by
- Slow-moving fireballs from its mouth which start out close together and gradually widen in range..
Evasion And Escalation
The random tentacles are quite easy to predict; they'll make bubbles in the water to notify you of their arrival with a three-ish-second delay.
The rapid sets of strikes will not catch up to you if you continue moving, but if you should get swept up in them, they can damage you several times.
As for the fireballs, we advise you to steer your ship away from Cathulhu to give you ample time to maneuver through them once they've widened their gap to a manageable degree.
Once Cathulhu is down to about three-quarters of its health, the volley of fireballs increases to three waves at a time, so you will need to be more careful with your maneuvering.
At about half health, the three waves are followed up with a huge dump of additional fireballs, but you can avoid them by keeping to the back half of the stage (closer to the camera).
Offensive Tactics
Obviously, the more upgrades to your ship at this point, the better. Special cannonballs are strongly advised, as you'll be unleashing enough regular shots to reload them fairly swiftly.
Our favorite for this fight is Electric Cannonpaw, which you'll receive for destroying Meowtallikcurse. But anything helps, and remember that you can always load up on more than one type of special cannonballs.
Your ship's health and attack power scale to your character level as well, so even if you were to go after Cathulhu with no upgrades, you'll still have a more capable vessel at higher levels.
We distatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/'t spend any ship slots on Ship Hull upgrades. The ten-to-twenty-percent boosts to health just distatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/'t make enough of a difference to sacrifice something more offensively oriented. Firing Rate, Cannon Reload, and Ammo Capacity are better picks.
Your general strategy should be hit-and-run assaults. Get in close to Cathulhu so that your cannonballs will land, evading attacks as much as you can. Don't do this during the fireball phases - you'll just get walloped. Unload your arsenal, pull back, and get back in there when you can.
Rewards
For destroying Cathulhu, you'll earn Fires of Cathulhu, an excellent special cannonball that is well worth using if you go after the even-harder Duck of Doom later.
You'll get the Fang of Cathulhu to bring back to Mama Milka, who will then upgrade your Pawer Milk by quite a few additional levels.

PostsKidd Cat's "Smithy Hammer" Item
Another client for "Lost and Found" is Kidd Cat, the blacksmith on Pawt Purvanna. The item he needs is the Smithy Hammer.
As with the Jug o' Milk before it, Kidd Cat won't talk about the Smithy Hammer - at least, not that we know of - you need to acquire it and then speak with him, at which point he'll note that he needs it.
Over at the Twilight Isles, and search for the small coastline on the northern perimeter of the largest island. There, you'll find an obvious object that provides you with another note: "Latitude 6, Longitude 32".
For the Smithy Hammer, steer your boat through the rivers into the northernmost Fort Beakon on this island. The Smithy Hammer is in a bush just to the left of the parrot.
How To Obtain The Dragon Bone
Now, bring the Smithy Hammer to Kidd Cat, who is grateful, but really needs a Dragon Bone. The good news is, if you're doing the entirety of the main quest rather than skipping the Pi-rat King's headquarters, you'll acquire this automatically.
The bad news is, the Dragon Bone can't be obtained until you've cleared the Pi-rat King's HQ on the Furggy Islands, a high-level zone at the southeast part of the map. Before you can even open the gate to this stage, you must destroy a ship called The Undying.
If you have already defeated Cathulhu, the Undying is far easier by comparison. It's level 60, and we were able to "cheese" the fight by equipping items that damage enemies when you heal yourself, using the Healpaw spell, and luring it to a shoreline instead of battling it in our own ship as the game intends.
Upon exiting the Pi-rat King HQ, you will obtain the Dragon Bone. We did this out-of-order relative to the Smithy Hammer, so we had no idea what it was used for at the time. You won't have that issue!
Rewards
Take the Dragon Bone to Kidd Cat. He then forges the Dragon Bone, a level 50 melee weapon that deals 75 damage and provides the Spinning Dragon Claw special attack. This is a very good weapon - all the more so as you upgrade it.

PostsMage Bonney's "Voodoo Doll"
Alas, we've come to the part of this quest that we've not yet quite wrapped up. But although we haven't finished Mage Bonney's side, we have found the Voodoo Doll, which is the first of the shopkeep's two necessary items.
Go to the Sunset Islands, AKA the northern portion of the map. Find the island that’s just north of the word "SUNSET", on the map; it's a small one.
Investigate the obvious object here to obtain another set of directions, which we'll break down for you:
- Sail close to the Fire Pi-rat Hideout which is on an island due east from here.
- Then, sail northeast to the island at the east end of the main landmass.
- Check out the red bush behind the island's North Star pointer sign for the Voodoo Doll.
Now, bring the Voodoo Doll to Mage Bonney on Pawt Purvanna. Right off the bat, she'll teach you the useful Icepaw Spell. This spell briefly freezes foes in place - incredible for crowd control.
From here, Mage Bonney asks you to find the Necropawmicon, which is precisely what we presently aim to do. We'll update this guide ASAP.
