Treyarch Has Confirmed Once And For All That Black Ops 7 Sadly Won't Have Jetpacks

Since about late June, fans of the Call of Duty franchise have been mostly convinced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 would see the return of jetpacks, something that hasn't been in the game since at least Infinite Warfare. The evidence, a leaked promotional screenshot, was rather compelling, all things considered.
Flash forward to today, and Treyarch really wants you to know that jetpacks simply aren't happening in Black Ops 7. In a video first spotted by Insider Gaming, design director Matt Scronce came out in front of the rampant rumors with a very matter-of-fact statement.
No wall running, we do have wall jump. I can run up to a wall and I can jump off of it, and there are no jetpacks. The technology isn’t quite there yet in 2035, and that’s where you are in Black Ops 7 multiplayer.
That's a bummer for those hoping to boost around the maps, but Scronce did have a rather nice tease that could take the sting out of things.
Black Ops 7 Will Let You Revisit Some Of Black Ops 2's Best
At the end of the video, when answering the question, “Can we get some Black Ops 2 remasters that we haven’t seen before?” the director said, "Yeah, you can."
Already, as Insider Gaming noted, the following three Black Ops 2 maps will be remastered and available at launch: Raid, Express and Hijacked. Of course, Nuketown hasn't been confirmed, but is anyone really doubting its return?
That leaves open the possibility of getting maps like Turbine or Plaza either at launch or down the line. Not a bad consolation prize in exchange for no jetpacks.
