In Blasphemous 2, the Altarpieces are wooden pieces that fit into The Penitent One's Altar on his back. These Altarpieces unlock some cool perks, like increasing his Critical Hit rate, damage with specific weapons, or decreasing the cooldown time of the dash and midair dash.

Not only that, but the Altarpieces are also very important in creating unique combinations and power-ups that will protect The Penitent One throughout his adventure in Cvstodia. These Altarpieces are hard to find, and if you do, you'll get rewarded with an achievement or trophy named Weight of Penance. So, in this article, you'll see all the Altarpieces and how to find them.
Purchasable Altarpieces In the City Of The Blessed Name
CloseYou can buy five Altarpieces in the shop east of the City Of The Blessed Name, run by a giant hand named Regina. These are:
- The Scribe: 3000 Tears of Atonement. Increases the amount of Fervor you get after killing enemies
- The Partisan: 3000 Tears of Atonement. Increases the time you have to perform a parry with Ruego Al Alba and Sarmiento & Centella
- Viridana: 3000 Tears of Atonement. Heals you upon executing an enemy
- The Bishop:3000 Tears of Atonement. It slightly increases the damage you deal with your Prayers
- The Flagellant: 3000 Tears of Atonement. Reduces the amount of guilt that blocks your Fervor bar you get after dying
The Choirmaster
Close- Increases your Prayers' Critical Hit ratio by five percent.
You can also buy The Choirmaster here, but this time, you must buy it from The Merchant, who roams through Cvstodia. You'll see him for the first time in City of The Blessed Name.
Then, he'll appear next to the entrance of several important places, such as the Basilica Of Absent Faces, Elevated Temples, Sunken Cathedral, The Severed Tower, and Crimson Rains. You'll see this Altarpiece available for 3000 Tears of Atonement in his shop until you buy it.
The Traitor
Close- Increases the damage of all your weapons by ten percent.
Montañés, the sculptor, will give you this Altarpiece the first time you visit his workshop in the City of The Blessed Name.
The Ecstatic Novice
Close- Increases the damage of your stun attacks by 25 percent.
This Altarpiece is in the City Of The Blessed Name, hidden in a room at the city's top. You must go through a ladder at the east of the city, make your way to the top, and then head to the left to find it.
The Cobijada Mayor
Close- Heals you slowly over time when you aren't in battle.
You can buy this Altarpiece on The City Of The Blessed Name in the room east of the Fast Travel room, but only after finding all the nine stranded Cobijadas. It costs 12500 Tears of Atonement.
The Confessor
Close- Increases the damage you deal by ten percent when your guilt is high
If you confess to clean yourself from guilt with The Confessor, you'll see how some flowers bloom on The Confessor's carpets. If you keep confessing there, eventually, the flowers will die, as well as The Confessor. That's when you have to talk with him; he'll give you the Remembrance Of The Confessor. Take it to Montañés, so he'll craft The Confessor Altarpiece for you.
Nacimiento
Close- Increases your Bile Flasks' efficiency by 20 percent.
This Altarpiece is located on the Ravine Of The High Stones. You must head to the right from The City Of The Blessed Name until you see a wooden barrier blocking a path downwards.
Break it with Ruego Al Alba's Weight Of Sin, then move to the right through a small opening with a dash. You'll see a chest here with the Altarpiece.
The Purified One
Close- Increases your fire damage by 15 percent.
This Altarpiece hides in the Aqueduct Of The Costales. To get it, enter the zone fromThe City of The Blessed Name and move upwards as soon as possible; this will lead you to a Prie Dieu. Then, you have to run to the left until you see a long ladder; use it.
The objective is to reach the room above the one you are in. As you get to that room, start walking to the left again. Keep doing it while ignoring any other ladder; take the entrances through the bottom left. Eventually, you'll see a chest with the Altarpiece. But first, you must go through a small battle arena to get it.
Próximo And Gregal
Close- Próximo: damages all the nearby enemies whenever you receive damage
- Gregal: slowly regenerates Fervor
To get these Altarpieces, first, you must get all the Cherubs. As you do that, head to the Garden of the High Choirs. You'll get there by traveling through the Aqueduct Of The Costales.
Here, talk with Próximo. He'll let you climb the tower with the platforms invoked by the Cherubs. You'll find an item named Giant Rattle at the top of the tower; give it to Próximo, and he'll give you the Remembrance of Próximo. Then, take this new item to Montañés to get the Proximo Altarpiece.
For Gregal, climb a bit more at the top to find a hidden chest. You'll find the Altarpiece there.
The Anointed One
Close- Increases your damage with the Veredicto weapon by 15 percent.
If you chose the Veredicto as your weapon at the start of the game, this Altarpiece will spawn in Sacred Entombments. Keep walking to the left from the top Prie Dieu until you find the Veredicto room. The Altarpiece will be there.
If you didn't choose the Veredicto as your starter weapon, this Altarpiece will be onsale in the shop in Street of Wakes for 12000 Tears of Atonement.
