At last, Battlefield 6 is here, delivering the first solid FPS experience out of the gate in what seems like ages. While it has its issues, it's a far cry from what has been the norm, so it's welcomed nonetheless. As such, we were beyond excited to get back to our beloved and favorite Classes in the series, with the Engineer being at the top of that list.
Being able to demolish the enemy's vehicles while keeping yours healthy and deadly is a staple of the series, not to mention the Class's love for SMGs, which is where our heart lies. If you love melting enemies with your SMG, while also engaging in vehicular warfare, this is the Class for you!
Best Anti-Armor Engineer Build
While it's likely still too early to tell, we strongly feel like the SGX may very well be the best SMG in the game, if not one of the best weapons overall. It's compact, deals decent amounts of damage, and can become absolutely disgusting with the proper attachments. If you're looking for a solid all-rounder SMG, you will definitely want to focus on leveling up this SMG above all else.
With that aside, let's focus on the other aspects that make the Anti-Armor Engineer shine, since they receive additional rockets, reload their Launchers faster, and are generally a much larger nuisance to the opposing vehicles. Since this is the case, you should prioritize having a solid Launcher as one of your gadgets, alongside Mines or other anti-vehicle devices!

Gadget 2

AV Grenade

Sledgehammer
As you can see, this build focuses on the Engineer's ability to be a thorn in the enemy's side, no matter if they're infantry-based or are occupying vehicles. This SGX build is an excellent weapon in close to mid-range engagements, making it deadly at pretty much all ranges you will find yourself in. And when paired with your gadgets, you can make the opposing vehicles tremble at your destructive power!
Best Combat Engineer Build
Next up is the Combat Engineer-focused build, which can be a bit more aggressive overall, as its primary focus is on keeping combat equipment operational and sturdy. As such, we still recommend utilizing the power of the SGX, except with a few tweaks here and there to take advantage of the Engineer's potent enhanced hipfire capabilities when using SMGs.
Aside from that, your gadgets will be a bit different, since you will be focusing on enhancing your teammates' gadgets, while also focusing heavily on keeping your own vehicles repaired, resupplied, and ready for battle. This is a remarkably fun Training Path for Engineers, as it allows you to play a bit looser while maintaining its specialized focus on vehicles!

AV Grenade or Frag Grenade

You can swap out the Supply Crate for a Launcher if you really can't stand the idea of not shooting down enemy aircrafts or blowing up tanks (we get it), but we feel this build better suits the Combat Engineer, as your goal is to continually supply your friendly vehicles with ammunition, while also enhancing gadgets. The EOD Bot is almost mandatory because of its abilities and upgrades alone. Don't sleep on the potential of this Training Path!
Utilizing the Engineer's unique Signature Weapon ability alongside this SGX build seems utterly broken, as you can hit most of your shots, from the hip, at close to mid-range. Additionally, using your gadgets to repair vehicles, arm/diffuse M-COM Stations, and keep your friendly vehicles topped up on ammunition is a massive win. While you can't destroy enemy vehicles like you're used to, this is a fair and solid tradeoff!
