Baldur's Gate 3 is a hit with fans and critics alike, boasting an incredibly high Metacritic score of 96, making it one of 2023's highest-rated games, and one of the highest-scoring PC games of all time. But as great as it is, people still have hot takes, and thousands of fans have flocked to Reddit to share their own.

"Non-players in combat take forever and need to be sped up or have the option to speed it up," edwardsamson suggested. "I'm sitting there jamming the space bar like it would help in any manner," GeneverRoseh said.

"I despise having to pick party members," VokN said. "I don't want to worry if I have the right people for my passive checks to give me good lore or for encounters to match up. I don't care for Wyll but **** me if I won't drag him back out of the camp just to go see his dad - feels like a waste of time when they could do some magic pockets-style bullshit where he just wanders over mid-conversation like he was hanging just outside of frame".

"Halsin shouldn't be a companion," King_of_the_cum said. "He should have stayed as an NPC and that's it. Instead, it would be much better if Alfira joined us." JimPranksDwight, a much more respectable username, added, "I had hoped she would fill up the slot for a bard character in the party, giving you a second skill monkey class besides Astarion. Having both Jaheira and Halsin was weird. I'm guessing both were an option in case one gets killed?"

"My one immersion complaint is how few times I've been able to **** my way out of a problem as a bard," Ionovarcis said.

"The character creator is a bit underwhelming," TheBiggestNose said - a fitting username, this time. "The lack of customisation of the body also feels bad [...] It always surprised me that people spent so long in the character creator because there aren't many options."

"I want more people to embrace the failure aspect of the game," Dispersedme54 said. "You don't need to pass every charisma check, even as a charisma class. Embrace the chaos that the failure brings, that's part of the fun of Dungeons & Dragons."

"LET ME FILTER QUEST MARKERS. PLEASE," MagnoliaMight said.

"You should be able to click on the map once to make your party move there," throwawayDude131 said.

"I wish the Tav (custom main character) was fully voice-acted," Scoonie24 said. "I feel like I'm the only one who hates silent protagonists."

You can dig through more yourself via the Reddit post - there are a lot - but these were some of the highlights. You'll also find plenty of back-and-forth arguing about whether Act 3 was a rushed mess or the peak of the game (I lean to the latter).
