Baldur's Gate 3 has so many different choices to make, and your companions will probably have something to say about each one. This is especially true if your choice concerns their hearts and whether you decide to smash them into thousands of tiny pieces. And with so many different ways to end their romance arcs, it turns out Larian had to put together a lot of break-up conversations.

One fan has compiled all of the responses you can get from the characters through breaking up or bringing them into an unwitting love triangle - and it's brutal. Worse of all, the video goes on for an hour, so that's an hour's worth of audio centred around our campmates getting their hearts stamped on. Yes, it's as uncomfortable as it sounds.

Kudos to YouTuber DanaDuchy for going through all of these dialogue options so we don't have to. Seriously, I can barely stand to watch Karlach get her heart broken by someone else, let alone be the person responsible.

It's an endurance test, that's for sure. If you can get through the full 54 minutes and not shed a tear, then I'm impressed. And a little terrified, quite frankly.

While it's amazing to see so much audio had to be put together for these break-up scenarios, it's easy to see why. Not only are there eight romance options (all of the origin characters, plus Halsin and Minthara), but you can also break things off with them by bunking with someone else without telling them first. Otherwise known as cheating. All of the characters have unique dialogue depending on who you cheat with, or at least, who you get a little too flirty with for their liking. Most will then ask you to choose between them and their romantic rival, but even if you don't pick them, you usually have the option of ending things amicably - or not.

Some characters don't mind a cheeky bit of non-monogamy, as long as everyone involved is cool with it. Right now, it seems that the only workable matchups are Player/Shadowheart/Halsin, Player/Astarion/Halsin, and Player/Karlach/Halsin - although the latter is less enthusiastic and more, "Well, I guess we can try that".

When confronted by a jealous partner, you of course get the opportunity to say that you pick them over the other option. But then you have to go on over and dump someone else instead, so there's not really an easy way out here.

Still, heartache aside, it's an incredible amount of detail, as most players will likely never encounter all of these lines for as long as they play Baldur's Gate 3. In fact, I hope you don't, because you'll have to be playing as a real ass to mess everyone around like this.
