The final arc of Jujutsu Kaisen brought many, many battles. These were the most memorable ones in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
PostsIn an alternate world where a small portion of humanity is an Ability User, clashes will inevitably happen. These fights not only show character or skill development for some of our favourite characters in the show but, at times, deep, emotional conflict on both sides. As such, here are the best fights in Bungo Stray Dogs.
10 Atsushi, Tanizaki And Mori vs. Lucy Montgomery
Season 1, Episode 12
The finale of Season One sees several Agency staff and a Guild member clash. In an attack that they didn't see coming, Lucy Montgomery transports a large group of people with a snap of her finger. Despite Tanizaki and Atsushi's attempts, Lucy's Ability proves more formidable than assumed: an interdimensional room with its own abnormally powerful warden, a giant ragdoll named Anne.
With Tanizaki down and Atsushi the only combatant left, it seemed like our heroes were going to be stuck there forever. However, a mysterious man in a doctor's coat calmed him down and gave helpful advice on how to defeat Lucy and Anne. In a turn of events, Atsushi deceived Lucy and got her to release everyone, but since this show likes to pile one plot twist after another, the seemingly good-natured doctor turns out to be Mori Ougai, the head of the Port Mafia.
9 Dazai And Chuuya vs. Lovecraft
Season 2, Episode 9
During the war with the Guild, Q's malicious mind-control ability is wreaking havoc in Yokohama, and both the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia sent their best to retrieve Q: Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya.
In this fight, the infamous Double Black duo makes a comeback, and we see just why they were the most fearsome pair back in Dazai's mafia days. Despite the dislike they have for each other, the two were able to work together well, going through different strategies to deal with the monster Lovecraft. We get the treat of seeing Chuuya go all out with the most powerful aspect of his ability, absolutely annihilating Lovecraft and permanently taking him out of the war.
8 Tachihara Michizo vs. Fukuchi Ochi
Season 5, Episode 4
These two characters represented some of the biggest twists ever in the series, with Tachihara having a change of heart. Although he's had his suspicions for a while, Tachihara catches Fukuchi talking about his dastardly plans to the vampire, Bram Stoker.
Enraged at the betrayal, the two duke it out, and we get to see just how skilled Tachihara is at using his metal manipulation ability. He was able to stop Fukuchi's totally broken space-time sword, Shinto Amenogozen, and even pierced and wounded Fukuchi by using metal shards. Although Fukuchi was able to gain the upper hand using the space-time sword and blind Tachihara, it was great to see Tachihara able to go toe-to-toe and give Fukuchi a hard time.
7 Atsushi And Akutagawa vs. Ivan Goncharov
Season 3, Episode 12
This battle shows how far Atsushi and Akutagawa has come in putting aside their enmity to work together in battle. The two were chasing down Alexander Pushkin, intent on capturing him to get him to stop the virus he planted on both the heads of the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency.

PostsHowever, they were stopped by Ivan Goncharov, who has an earth manipulation ability. While dodging Goncharov's constructs, Atsushi uses himself as a distraction while Akutagawa stabs Goncharov using Rashomon from beneath. Although Goncharov had deceived them using a puppet, Akutagawa gives Atsushi Rashomon, fusing their abilities, and allowing Atsushi's claws to be sharp enough to even slice through other abilities.
6 Nakahara Chuuya vs. Red Dragon
Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple
CloseIn the movie, Dead Apple, all ability users in Yokohama are affected by a powerful ability user, Shibusawa, one who's capable of separating users from their abilities, storing these abilities once the original user is killed. As the movie finally reaches its climax, Port Mafia executive Chuuya makes an appearance to fight the Red Dragon, which is a manifestation of all the stolen abilities taken by Shibusawa.
You know you're in for an adrenaline-rushing fight whenever Chuuya triggers Corruption, and he does not disappoint. Chuuya uses floating debris to launch attacks at the dragon, as well as lobbing massive gravitons its way. At one point, Chuuya lifts a whole building and shoves it into the dragon's open mouth, causing it to implode as it tries to breathe fire.
5 Akutagawa And Atsushi vs. Francis Fitzgerald
Season 2, Episode 12
CloseThe final stage of the war with the Guild culminates in a battle between Atsushi and Akutagawa against the Guild's leader, Francis Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's physical strength grows the more money he burns with his ability and presents a challenge against the duo.
However, the two had been bickering and fighting with one another before facing Fitzgerald on the ship deck and continued to argue even then, even ending up shoving each other to get to the Guild's boss. Funny enough, it's only when Fitzgerald mentions the two are so alike that they can set their dislike for each other aside, forcing Fitzgerald to use up all of his wealth, ultimately kicking the defeated boss off of his own ship.
4 Akutagawa And Atsushi vs. Fukuchi Ochi
Season 5, Episode 3
CloseA visually arresting battle from start to finish, it's also a painfully hopeless one for Akutagawa and Atsushi. Whenever this duo were on the same battlefield in the past, a victory was almost expected. But against someone like Fukuchi Ochi and his overpowered space-time sword, they were doomed from the start.
Although we can appreciate Akutagawa and Atsushi having both improved in combat, this fight is more about introducing Fukuchi's space-time sword and a display of why Fukuchi had a reputation for being invincible in battle. No matter what Akutagawa or Atsushi did, Fukuchi could simply break through the barrier of time with his weapon to reverse his defeat.
3 Fukuchi Ochi vs. Fukuzawa Yukichi
Season 5, Episode 11
CloseIn the Season Five finale, Fukuchi Ochi is poised to complete his plan, having foiled his enemies largely due to his space-time sword. Fukuzawa goes to stop him and is wounded by Fukuchi's weapon.

PostsJust as Fukuchi is about to give the order to all the vampires in the world, Fukuzawa lets himself be stabbed by Shinto Amenogozen, and, in a turn of events, takes possession of the space-time sword and the One Order, and slits Fukuchi's throat simply by swivelling his body. But Fukuchi activates Poe's notebook and the two are transported inside it, where Fukuchi reveals why he is doing what he's doing, painting himself as the villain to achieve a world without war. It's a sad end to a years-long friendship and a man traumatised by war.
2 Oda Sakunosuke vs. Andre Gide
Season 2, Episode 4
One of the greatest gunfights in anime history, this battle takes place between Port Mafia member Oda Sakunosuke (or Odasaku) and terrorist leader Andre Gide. After the orphaned children Odasaku had been caring for are killed, Odasaku is out for blood, and using his precognition ability, easily takes down Gide's lackeys.
Although abilities give you an added advantage in combat, this battle boils down entirely to skill, since both Odasaku and Gide have the same ability. They were even able to have a conversation without actually speaking due to foreseeing what the other would say, with emotions running high as we instinctively know neither will come out alive. Odasaku's death wasn't only tragic but was the final straw that spurred Dazai to leave the Port Mafia.
1 Dazai Osamu vs. Fyodor Dostoevsky
Season 5, Episodes 7-11
CloseAlthough not a fight in the sense that you'd exchange physical blows, this one is more of a mind game than anything else. Fought between two of the most intelligent characters in the show, the clash between Dazai and Fyodor sees who can escape Mersault first before the poison they'd willingly ingested kills them.
Taking several episodes to unfold, it's revealed that both Dazai and Fyodor have already set their respective escape plans in motion, as well as how they've been communicating with the outside world. Just when you think Dazai has the upper hand, Fyodor tips the scales and does the impossible, seemingly killing Dazai. You'd think Fyodor's triumph is assured until Dazai walks out, very much alive. This fight (and story arc) shows just how many steps ahead Dazai was, covering every possibility and having backup plans for his backup plans - though we haven't seen an end to Fyodor just yet.
