This guide will take you through where to find each of the three Gear Chests associated with this superior sword. We'll have you slicing and dicing those Horn Bearers in no time!

Zanj Uprising Sword Overview

As we touched on in the intro, the Zanj Uprising Sword will greatly enhance the damage of your next attack after you land a Perfect Dodge. With a fifty percent buff to attack power gained after every successful evasion, this weapon is ideal for those fights where none of your opponent's attacks are parryable. An excellent example of this enemy type would be the giant club-wielding Horn Bearer soldiers.

Because the Zanj Uprising Sword is so good for fighting the more robust enemies, it is a bit of a staple in the early-to-mid game. Though, even later in the game, after you have developed tools for more efficiently dealing with those armored opponents, you will still be dodging quite a bit. This means that the Zanj Uprising Sword never feels irrelevant. It remains a solid pick straight to the end of the game.

It is important to note that there are three chests associated with the Zanj Uprising Sword and the first of these three chests you open will always give you the sword.

  • Central Harbiya, Metal Factory

Don't just waltz into the Metal Factory, it is a restricted area. Use your eagle vision to scope out a building with two guards on top. Approach from the roof, and take them out. Now, on one side you will see soldiers training, on another, there is a wagon filled with hay. Jump into the hay, whistle to attract the guard, pull them into the hay (never to be seen again), and then enter into the building, climb the ladder, and you will find the chest. Collect the Zanj Uprising Sword.

  • West Harbiyah, Soap Boiler's District

The Zanj Uprising's schematics are found in a Gear Chest in the Soap Boiler's district. This one is pretty easy to get. Just head to the bottom floor and look up. You will see that the ceiling is made of rickety wood. Throw a knife at the damaged wood ceiling and it will explode into splinters. Climb up and open the chest to receive the schematics for the Zanj Uprising Sword.

  • Harbiyah, Damascus Gate Prison

The last Zanj Uprising Sword's schematic are found in a Gear Chest locked away in a caged area under the bridge in front of the Damascus Gate Prison. If you hop over the wall of the prison, you can waltz over to the bridge from below without facing much resistance (though you may need to take out a guard or two).

You will notice that the west side of the gate is partially torn open (though not wide enough for you to slip through), while there is a locked door on the east side. Simply throw a dagger through the hole and at the barricade keeping the door shut, now swing around to the east side, open the gate, and get the Zanji Uprising Sword Schematic.
