Where To Find The Glowing Creature

Upon ranking up your tavern, you'll be prompted to speak with the merchant outside. He'll tell you about a rumor he heard regarding a mysterious horse-like creature in the forest.

Head into the woods just behind your tavern and keep to the right. You'll find a glowing, ethereal deer waiting for you. Speak to it to learn that the forest is currently being poisoned by vile bears. You'll need to defeat them to free the forest and allow for more hunting!

If you have trouble finding the spectral deer, wait until nightfall and look for the blue glow.

Where To Find Bears

To satisfy the Spirit of the Forest, you'll need to slay three bears. The bears are located in the forest behind the tavern. You may need to search around to find them, but they can usually be found near the buzzing evil nests hanging from the trees.

Beware searching for bears at night, as they are incredibly hard to see.

Take your axe and attack the bears. They'll come charging at you before you see them sometimes, so stay on guard. Try to keep your distance so that you minimize damage taken, as the bears can do a lot of harm in a short amount of time.

Allow them to take a swing at you, and as they do, leap back just out of range. If this proves ineffective, try to sidestep their attacks. After they're defeated, make sure to loot the bodies for bear livers! These are powerful alchemical ingredients.

Once you've found and slain all three bears, return to the glowing deer.

How To Destroy The Evil Nests

With the bears defeated, all that's left is to destroy the nests scattered throughout the forest. Their are eight of them, and you've likely seen them (and heard them) in the trees. The Spirit of the Forest will send you off with a crossbow and some bolts, but after that, you're on your own.

Thankfully, your quest marker will show you where to go next. The nests can only be found in the forest, and you'll know you're going in the right direction when you see wolves and bears gathered together.

If you're playing with friends, you're more likely to fight against bears than wolves.

Defeat the animals surrounding the nests, then use your crossbow to fire at the branches keeping the nests suspended. When the nests drop, break them open with your axe.

This will destroy the nest, dispelling the evil imbued within. Do this for all eight of the nests, then return to the Spirit of the Forest. He's weakened due to all the harm done in the woods and asks you to make him a special dish: Fried boar steak.

Harvest some raw boar pork from wild boars if you don't have any, then use the grill in your tavern to cook up some steak. Bring it back to the spectral deer to complete the quest and become a true friend of the forest!

The Spirit of the Forest will remain in this spot so you can stop by and say hello at any time after meeting them!
