Your first and most important instruction in Atomfall is to find the Interchange. The game is an open world in the purest sense, so there are multiple ways to get there and several approaches for tackling it once you're inside, but make no mistake - the Interchange can be one of Atomfall's most dangerous areas.

Atomfall brings the twee post-apocalypse to rural Britain.
PostsThe Interchange is a huge place to explore, and you can breeze straight through it or take the risk and comb every inch of the facility. Here's what you need to know if you want to make it through and reach Oberon.
Where Is The Interchange?
The Interchange is a massive underground labyrinth beneath the Quarantine Zone. There are four entrances, each of which can only be opened from the outside. That means that even once you get in, you'll have to go back out and around to open another door and use the Interchange as a shortcut between areas.
The Interchange entrances can be found at the following coordinates:
- Slatten Dale: 31.0E, 77.8N (southeast of the Wyndham Village entrance.)
- Casterfell Woods: 27.6E, 83.6N (just southwest of the Wyndham Village entrance.)
- Wyndham Village: 33.8E, 78.3N (behind St. Katharine's Church and Grendel's Head Pub; lightly guarded.)
- Skethermoor: 39.6E, 73.1N (inside the Protocol military base; extremely heavily guarded by soldiers and robots.)
Inside each Interchange entrance is an explorable foyer area, usually containing a handful of enemies to deal with on your way in. When you reach the massive sealed door, go upstairs to the control room and insert the Modified Keycard you received from the unnamed scientist at the beginning of the game. This will permanently open the entrance.

Posts 1What To Do In The Interchange
CloseYour main objective in the Interchange is to activate the Central Processor, which will open the way to the Oberon Site. No matter which entrance you first enter the Interchange from, it will lead you to the Central Processor, which acts as the main hub for the area.
Loot the dead scientist next to the main terminal and use his Atomic Battery to turn it on. You then need to power each of the four Data Stores below with a separate Atomic Battery.
Atomic Batteries can be found throughout the Quarantine Zone. Check out our guide on how to find them if you're having trouble gathering enough.
Data Stores
By default, each Data Store can only be accessed from one or two Interchange entrances. To reach the others, you need to either go back outside and reach the other doors; once you do, you can move more freely within the Interchange, but this often means you have to risk the turrets and combat robots in the lower section of the Interchange to cut across to the other Data Stores (which is much faster, but also much more dangerous).
Placing an Atomic Battery in each Data Store - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta - will power another section of the Interchange, and also unlock optional facilities to explore in the lower depths. These are dangerous places to go, filled with Thralls and other tough foes, but they have excellent rewards, and many are required if you want to see specific endings.

The Medical and Robotics facilities will unlock as you power up Data Stores, but the Detention Quarter is blocked by a container. Search the side room next to it to find a body with a keycard, which you can use to operate a crane and move the obstacle.
How To Power The Central Processor
Once all Data Stores are all active, you can power the Central Processor by returning to the hub with a Signal Redirector. Look for junction boxes under the floor by each of the doors leading to the Data Stores; using the Signal Redirector on each will power the processor, letting you pull the lever and activate it.
The door to the Oberon Site will open, allowing you to proceed to the endgame. When you reach Oberon, you can:
- Extract a sample by powering the drill with Atomic Batteries.
- These can be either from your storage or from the crate at the rear left of the dig site and the storage room near the drill's power supply.
- Inject a liquid into the fire suppression system (at the rear left of the main site), then turn on the valves and fire the foam cannons to affect Oberon biologically.
- Activate the four bombs around the outskirts of the dig site, then pull the self destruct lever in the control room, to destroy Oberon.
Your decisions here will determine which ending you get and who will let you escape. Watch out for the three flamethrower bots patrolling the dig site, and the Thralls throughout the area. There's also an infected tunnel on the right side of the site that has Spores to harvest, but also several Ferals.
After completing your chosen ally's objective at the Oberon dig site, return to them to finish the game.
