One Piece Card Game: The 10 Best Cards In OP-06: Wings Of The Captain

OP-06 Wings Of The Captain introduces tons of excellent meta-defining cards to add to your pre-existing One Piece Card Game decks, but also includes brand-new archetypes for players to try out, like Thriller Bark and Germa 66.

Monkey.D.Luffy is more powerful than ever in One Piece Card Game's Awakening of the New Era.
PostsThis is one of the best sets to invest in if you want to start playing the One Piece Card Game. Most of the cards found in the set can make cohesive decks because of how powerful they are individually. While adding older cards might increase the strength of your decks, some archetypes—Germa 66— found in OP-06 are self-contained within the set and are one of the cheapest competitive decks to play in the game.
10 Ame No Murakamo Sword
Remove Wide Boards Easily
Rob Lucci is an excellent card used in Sakazuki, but its typing being “CP” rather than “Navy” hurts the deck’s consistency. With this new event card, Sakazuki, and other blue Navy decks, now has a way to remove two small bodies easily. Apart from costing a mere two DON!!, Ame No Murakamo Sword is also searchable by Tashigi and Brannew, making low-to-the-ground style decks, like Zoro, tremble in their shoes.
Since Ame No Murakamo Sword is only an uncommon rarity, you’ll have no trouble finding copies of this card.
Sakazuki's cost reduction cards can give you a bigger range for Ame No Murakamo Sword
9 Charlotte Pudding
Say Goodbye To Your Pathetic Cards, Luffy!
This Pudding card is one of the most slept-on cards in the set. While its typing is not great for now— Queen is the only blue/yellow leader in the game— this card can be splashed in into almost every blue deck. If you’re up against a deck that tends to draw a lot of cards, like Sakazuki or Reiju, you can easily slam this card down, forcing your opponent to return their hand to the deck, and only draw five cards.
The downside to this card is that it’s only worth if your opponent has more than five cards in hand, but at worst this Pudding at least has a 1,000 counter on it.
8 Shuraiya
Indirect Red/Purple Law Support! Yippie!
At face value, this card doesn’t seem like it does much, but with the right build, Shuraiya can outshine some of the best blockers in the game, such as Rebecca and five-drop Trafalgar Law.

The One Piece Card Game got a massive boost of purple cards in OP-05: Awakening Of The New Era.
PostsWhenever Shuraiya attacks or blocks, the card’s power will match that of the opposing leader’s, meaning if you block with this card, all you’ll need to do is spend a 1,000 counter and he’ll survive the battle. While a bit underwhelming, it can come in handy against decks that want to attack with big numbers like Yamato.
7 Kikunojo
You Better Not Attack This Card
Players have complained for many sets about how unfair the yellow decks feel. They operate around randomly placed triggers in their life, so the game becomes more centered on luck rather than skill. Bandai has slowly nerfed a couple of triggers by giving them conditions for them to activate, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any more strong ones.
Kikunojo can play out of life as long as your opponent is at three or less Life cards, promoting a more aggressive playstyle, rather than a passive one. Kikunojo will also heal you one Life if she is ever K.O.’ed.
6 Hody Jones
An Excellent Finisher For All Green Decks
Hody Jones, although strong, is very high-risk high-reward. This card can rest two of your opponent’s characters or DON!!, opening them up for an attack with his Rush keyword. His resting ability doesn’t have a cost restriction, meaning he’ll be able to rest any possible threat on the board.
The only downside to this card is that once you play him, you’ll have to take the top of your Life pile to your hand, so if you can’t finish the game or eliminate your opponent’s threats, you’re better off saving him in your hand.
5 Kozuki Hiyori
Load Up Your Life With Sneaky Surprises
Wings Of The Captain includes some of the best yellow cards to date. These cards usually have excellent triggers to complement yellow’s playstyle. Hiyori uses the trigger mechanic and amps it up tenfold.

Where to start with your Gomu Gomu cards.
PostsThis Land Of Wano card can add a card from your life to your hand then you get to add one from your hand to your life, allowing you to set up any upcoming triggers. Cards like Kikunojo, Nami, or even Shirahoshi are excellent targets for Hiyori.
4 Vinsmoke Reiju
Draw Engine For Many Decks
The Vinsmoke family makes their first appearance in the One Piece Card Game in OP-06. With Reiju as their main draw engine, you’ll be able to quickly draw all of your pieces to unleash a massive Vinsmoke Judge turn.
The best part about this cards is that it is not leader-locked, so decks like Red/Purple Trafalgar Law from ST-10 can use her and she is a four-drop card, Law will be able to cheat her out with the leader effect.
3 O-Nami
Banish Your Opponent’s Cards
Non-engine cards are tricky to add into your deck due to how searching works in this game. The more non-engine pieces you add to your deck, the less consistent your deck becomes. O-Nami is one of the exceptions to that clause. You’ll probably want to add four copies of this card to any of your yellow decks.
O-Nami can give one of your characters Banish for the turn, meaning any damage that they deal to your opponent will go to the trash instead of their hand. Not to mention their excellent K.O. trigger.
2 Reject
Banned Before It Even Released
There is a reason why Reject is banned upon the release of OP-07. This card does way too much. It is a copy of Thunder Bolt without the requirement to trash one of your own life, but it can also deal one damage to your opponent outright, helping you close out games quickly if your opponent doesn’t see it coming.
People have lost many games to this card, not to mention the draw one as a trigger will help you dig through your deck faster.
1 Gecko Moria
*Insert Gecko Moria’s Laugh Sound Bite Here*
The Thriller Bark archetype was introduced in this set and it’s probably one of the best in the OP-06 meta. The deck can quickly play characters out of the trash for a low cost, spamming the board with aggressive plays, and this Gecko Moria is the perfect boss card for it.
The Warlord Of The Sea lets you play a character that costs four or less and one that costs two or less from the trash without any typing restriction. That effect, combined with some of the strongest four-drop cards, like Borsalino, Rebecca, or Rob Lucci, give you plenty of options to shut down your opponents while establishing a massive 9,000 power attacker.
