The bell puzzle is one of the early-game challenges you will encounter. You will be presented with a note and five bells but no clear instructions on how to solve it. This guide explains how to solve the Daybreak Tower bell puzzle, so you can claim the valuable reward waiting at the end.

Where Is Daybreak Tower Bell Puzzle Location

After defeating the Yingzhao boss, you will have the opportunity to explore the Lake Yaochi Ruins, where you will encounter the second main boss of the game. This location is east of the Pavilion Gate and initially blocked by a statue.

To proceed, use the Tai-Chi Kick to disable the robot statue's defenses and hack it, which will open a door granting you access to the Lake Yaochi Ruins. A bit of platforming and traveling on foot will bring you to a mysterious Solarian standing beside five bells.

This area is known as the Daybreak Tower, which features four small bells, one large bell at the center, and a closed door at the top that might hold some rewards.

How To Solve The Daybreak Tower Bell Puzzle

Interacting with the mysterious Solarian and exhausting all her dialogue options will reward you with the Ancient Sheet Music. This sheet music contains a language beyond the comprehension of Yi, the main character.

Your next step is to return to the Pavilion and give the Ancient Sheet Music to Shuanshuan. After handing over the sheet music, talk to Ruyi at the Pavilion as well. Yi will instruct Ruyi to teach Shuanshuan the mysterious language so the notes can be translated and the music can be played.

Once you complete this step, continue exploring the game's story. Return to the Lake Yaochi Ruins after you encounter Goumang for the first time, where her minions break the cage trapping Yi, causing him to fall to the lower levels of the Lake Yaochi Ruins.

In the lower levels of the Lake Yaochi Ruins, you will find a Root Node system that can fast travel you back to the Pavilion. Once there, interact with Shuanshuan, and he will play the music on his flute.

This interaction will give you the Ancient Penglai Ballad, which contains the melody you need to play by striking the bells at the Daybreak Tower. The five letters in the Ancient Penglai Ballad are written in a mysterious language.

Fortunately, the same symbols can be found on the bells. Your task is to match these symbols with the ones on the bells and strike them in order.

  1. Near Left Bell
  2. Far Right Bell
  3. Far Left Bell
  4. Near Right Bell
  5. Center Bell

The sequence follows the symbols from left to right, as seen in the Ancient Penglai Ballad. Each bell can be rung by striking it once, but the larger bell requires a charged attack to ring. Completing this sequence will solve the bell puzzle in the game.

Bell Puzzle Rewards

After solving the puzzle, a short cutscene will play, revealing a room opening at the top of the Daybreak Tower. Climb up using the rope, and inside the room, you will find a chest containing a Pipe Vial.

Pipe Vials are upgrades for your character's pipe. Obtaining Pipe Vials increases the number of times you can use the pipe to replenish lost health. By default, you start with two pipe charges at the beginning of the game.
