Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Players Aren't Happy With "Underwhelming" DLC

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl fans aren't happy about the characters who have been picked for the sequel's first round of DLC characters, especially since Avatar: The Last Airbender is taking up half of the slots.
Unless you pull a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and include every character that's ever been in the series, there's not a single fighting game out there that doesn't cause some kind of controversy with its roster. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 might be one of the strongest examples of that in some time thanks to its strange additions, glaring omissions, and cuts to the roster, which fans have made it clear they aren't happy about.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has cut a total of 11 characters from the first game, including fan favourites like Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Toph, Sandy, and CatDog. At least no one misses Oblina.
As mixed as the reception to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2's roster has been, there has always been the hope that it could be rounded out a little bit with DLC, as we knew from the start that we'd be getting at least four characters post-launch. After rumours circulated about who those four could be, it was officially confirmed yesterday that Mr Krabs, Zuko, Iroh, and Rocksteady will be making up the game's first season pass.
This probably won't come as a surprise, but the announcement of the first four DLC characters hasn't helped complaints about the roster and has actually made it actively worse. Over on the All-Star Brawl subreddit, players have been sharing their disappointment with the news and discussing why the DLC is a letdown.
The first big problem of the DLC is that two of the slots are taken up by Avatar: The Last Airbender characters. Zuko and Iroh are both very popular characters, but they're also both Firebenders, just like newcomer Azula. Aang and Korra can also bend fire, meaning that all five Avatar characters on the roster are Firebenders, while there's no dedicated Earthbender or Waterbender slot.
Rocksteady's inclusion as DLC has also been received negatively, which isn't surprising considering how messy the selection of TMNT characters is here. Although most fans agree that Rocksteady isn't a bad pick in and of himself, he's a strange inclusion when we've just said goodbye to half of the show's main characters and its villain. Also, as Blueblade19 puts it, "Rocksteady only is kinda criminal without Bebop".
The only character pick who seems to have gotten away unscathed is Mr Krabs, who has been one of the most-requested fighter picks ever since the first game was revealed. Almost everyone discussing the DLC right now has agreed that he's a strong pick, but that he's let down by too many Firebenders, no characters from series that aren't already in the game, and a strange pick for a TMNT character.
